With little over four months before the election, reporters questioned Trump on his choice of running mate ahead of his Saturday, June 22, rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Trump answered, "In my mind, yeah." In response to a query about whether he had told the person he would select for vice president, Trump stated, "No, nobody knows."

Furthermore, Trump stated to NBC News that his VP pick is 'most likely' to attend the debate on Thursday.

In the weeks leading up to the July 15–18 Republican National Convention and the debate, the process of choosing Trump's vice presidential candidate has intensified.

Internet shares mixed reactions as Trump drops major VP hint ahead of CNN debate

People on the internet had mixed reactions and stayed divided as Donald Trump disclosed that he has selected the Republican nominee for vice president in November.

Some online comments read "I think more than one of those people will be there. He likes to tease and build suspense" and "Please not Tim Scott! He comes across as a stereotypical politician who is not believable when he talks. And, the more he talks the less you believe that he is sincere."

A user wrote, "I am looking forward to seeing this debate. Hope it’s as entertaining as I imagine", while another added, "Ratings baby, just ratings. If someone knows how to play media game it’s good old Don."

A person also stated, "He should consider Byron Donalds. He was just speaking on the radio again today and he is very articulate and astute. He gets the issues and has good solutions. JD Vance isn't experienced enough", whereas another mentioned, "There is no audience at the CNN DEBATE. So I guess we still will not know who the VP is."
