Donald Trump pushes John F Kennedy assassination conspiracy theory days after releasing new files

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump suggested Lee Harvey Oswald, the person accused of assassinating former President John F Kennedy, may not have acted alone, in contradiction to what the Department of Justice has maintained for decades, The Daily Beast reported on Sunday, March 23.
The 35th POTUS was shot dead while riding a presidential motorcade in Texas on November 22, 1963. The shooter, identified as 24-year-old US Marine Oswald, opened fire at the convoy from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository.
However, Oswald denied the allegation that he acted on his own accord, and declared to the police that he was "just a patsy."
He was gunned down by Texas nightclub owner Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963, and the conspiracy lingers to this day.
Donald Trump's comments on the JFK assassination
The 78-year-old incumbent released thousands of classified files on the John F Kennedy assassination case on March 18, which reignited the interest of people in the incident as well as fueled the conspiracy theories surrounding it, from government interference to multiple gunmen.
In an interview with conservative podcaster and OutKick founder Clay Travis aboard Air Force One over the weekend, Trump was asked, "Do you think Oswald killed JFK personally?"
"I do, and I always felt that—but of course, was he helped? Nobody could say. And (the case file) has been released," the MAGA leader replied.

While the number of documents made public exceeds 80,000, Trump feels "the papers have turned out to be somewhat unspectacular."
"I don't think there's any that earth-shattering. Maybe that’s a good thing," he expressed.
Pushing for transparency under his new administration, Trump has promised the release of other files, such as those related to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
Internet trolls Donald Trump as he pushes John F Kennedy assassination conspiracy theory
The readers of the Daily Mail mocked Donald Trump after reading about his take on the John F Kennedy assassination.

One wrote, "When pressed about the source of his information, Trump revealed it was the Kraken. His followers cheered," while another chided, "Uncanny; he's a regular Hercule Poirot."
"Trump is one of the most ignorant Americans going," a person declared, while someone else added, "Pure speculation. He has no idea just who killed JFK."
"Busy helping the country I see. Not," an individual wrote. "The last thing Trump wants to do is alienate the support of Conspiracy Theorists, hence leaving the door perpetually open," read another comment.
