Donald Trump reveals the four rules he has for his son Barron: 'That last one I don't say too strongly'

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump never shies away from singing praises for his youngest and tallest son, Barron, whom he shares with his wife, Melania.
The 78-year-old president recently revealed his 'formula for good parenting' as he disclosed the four rules he has set for his children, including his 19-year-old son, who just finished his freshman year at New York University.

Trump reveals the four rules he set up for his children
The commander-in-chief recently sat down with New York Post columnist Miranda Devine for the first episode of the outlet’s ‘Pod Force One’ podcast, where they covered a wide range of topics from family to the protests in Los Angeles and his recent clash with Elon Musk.
During the conversation, Trump also revealed the four rules he had set up for his children. “I always said the same thing. I said: no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes,” he told Devine, according to the Daily Mail.
“I also would say don't get tattoos, but I don't say it too strongly, because a lot of people have gotten tattoos, and that's what they choose to do,” he continued.
Trump has made a point of not drinking as his older brother, Fred Trump Jr, struggled with alcoholism and died at the age of 42.

Trump reveals the somber reason behind Barron’s college pick
At one point in the podcast, Donald Trump revealed the reason behind Barron’s decision to opt for New York University, unlike his siblings.
Trump attended the University of Pennsylvania as a student, as did his son, Donald Trump Jr.

Meanwhile, the president's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC, before moving to the University of Pennsylvania.
"He just wanted to be there," Trump said, adding, "He wanted to be there because his grandmother was gonna stay and wait for him in an apartment near the school. And she passed away."
Melania's mother, Amalija Knavs, died in January 2024 at the age of 78.

“She was fantastic. Melania’s mother was a fantastic woman. And Melania is a fantastic mother, by the way. She loves Baron. He’s very tall and he’s a good-looking guy,” he further explained.
The president also revealed that when Barron joined NYU as a freshman later in the year, he warned his son 'a little bit' about 'all the lefty professors' at the school.
Donald Trump insists all his children have future in politics
Later in the podcast, Devine asked Trump if his son, Trump Jr, might run for president himself.
“I don’t know. I mean I don’t know. I think all of them probably have a future in politics, frankly. And Don is very good. A good guy. He’s an outdoorsman,” he replied, according to Unilad.
Trump's reluctance to offer a definitive 'yes' could be attributed to Trump Jr expressly noting on his own X account that "although I'll never completely rule it out in the future, I have ZERO interest in running for office in [20]28 or anytime near."
President Trump instead suggested that all of his children could have a future in politics and boasted that they "were born very smart" during the interview.
He added, “Eric has done a fantastic job. Barron is great. He is very tall and good. Ivanka, you know Ivanka? She’s so great. And Tiffany has done really well. She went to a great law school and did very well. Always a good student.”
