'Keep your mouth shut': Donald Trump Jr slammed as he seeks 'veto power over RINOs'
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Donald Trump Jr stated that he did not want to become a part of his father's administration if the latter is reinstated in the White House in November, during an interview with Fox News Digital on Tuesday, July 16. However, he desired to have the power to veto RINOs, so that he could "stop the bad guys" from getting into positions of power.
The eldest son of the GOP nominee also praised Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance, who was named by Trump on Monday, the first day of the Republican National Convention.
Donald Trump Jr props up JD Vance as future leader of GOP
Trump Jr described Vance as "an incredible America First patriot," stating, "I think he is someone who truly believes in that mission — he is not a Washington DC neocon warmonger, and I think that is so critical."
"I love having a young, articulate, energetic guy as someone who can help also keep this movement going for generations to come — I think that is so fundamental and so important," he noted.
Vance earned the support of Trump Jr by being "a business guy, a politician, and as someone who is probably one of the most articulate fighters against the insanity over on the other side."
"He does a better job in hostile media territory than most of our best guys do. I think it is just so critical for the movement going forward and I think he’s going to do a great job as vice president," he added.
Donald Trump Jr's stance on a second Trump administration
Trump Jr denied wanting a formal role in his father's administration if the GOP nominee win the upcoming election.
Instead, he shared, "I don’t want a role in an administration — I don’t want to do that. The only role I want is to put our people in other positions of power. I just want to stop the bad guys from ever getting in those positions of power. That’s the only thing I want. I want to veto the RINOs. I want to have a veto power over the RINOs. That’s all I’m asking for."
"I’m excited for this. This time, we go in, we actually know what we’re doing. We know who the snakes are. We know how to deal with the bad guys," he continued. "I think we can get up and running so quickly, and I think everyone else understands that too — which is why, I think, they have so aggressively tried prosecuting my father and going after him and attacking him and trying to bankrupt him. And if that doesn’t work, they try to jail him."
"They (Democrats) fear that he (Trump) comes in with knowledge and that experience, and that he can be an even more effective leader than he was the first time around — and I thought he was pretty darn effective," he later added.
Internet trolls Trump Jr for wanting veto power
Trump Jr faced backlash for his remarks on the social media platform Facebook. Netizens called him out for demanding veto powers, as well as took an issue with the term "bad guys," as the following comments demonstrate.
"Nepotism is never a good thing. Whether by the elite or his children I have found it to dangerous in extreme," wrote a person.
"I’m a trump supporter but I think his children need to take a step back this time," stated another.
"It is unbelievably scary that anyone could see no fault with this statement simply because of their name. You think Hunter in a position of power is wrong then you need to have a problem with this as well, otherwise you’re part of the problem," expressed a third.
"Who are the 'bad guys'? Anyone who doesn't agree with them?" inquired a fourth.
"He needs to sit back and keep his mouth shut before he gets himself in trouble," quipped a fifth.
