NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump joined 'Fox & Friends' co-hosts Pete Hegseth, Will Cain and Rachel Campos-Duffy for an interview after his criminal hush money trial conviction.

Trump was unanimously found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records by a jury panel at the Manhattan Criminal Court on May 30. He faces penalties from a fine to four years in prison on each count and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.

Donald Trump slams his guilty verdict as 'weaponization'

Trump said about his conviction during the interview, "It's weaponization, and it's a very dangerous thing. We've never had that in this country."  The hush money trial verdict against Trump marks a significant moment in the history of the United States as it was the first time a former President was convicted of a crime.

Speaking of the trial, the presumptive GOP nominee continued, "People get it. It's a scam. And the Republican Party… they've stuck together in this. They see it's a weaponization of the Justice Department of the FBI and that's all coming out of Washington."

Trump discussed the alleged unfairness of the case, slamming the presiding Judge Juan Merchan. He also shared how his team tried to shift the trial venue from the deeply democratic city of Manhattan, but was not allowed to do so.

"We had probably, maybe the worst area in the whole country for me in terms of the vote… and they always bring them (charges) in these sections. They're places where Republicans get virtually no votes," he said, adding, "But, the good news is that I think we've set a record beyond all records for fundraising."

Fox News reported that Trump's fundraising page crashed following the guilty verdict, and his campaign saw record-breaking donations that day.

Internet slams Donald Trump

"We already know he's going to say the same thing he's already said 100x times before lol," wrote a user reacting to Trump's comments over the social media platform X.

"As usual every accusation is a confession," noted a third.

"'Bad people' are the ones who are found guilty...!" exclaimed a fifth.

"Must be great having a news group helping to spread the conspiracy campaign," chided another.

One Fox News viewer said, "What ambitions for the country??? All he talks about is himself...He NEVER mentions anything about what he's gonna do for the citizens of this country."

Another one said, "Guess we’re just ignoring the fact that Trump got himself into this mess. He’s guilty. A jury that his lawyers agreed on were unanimous. He probably won’t get prison time for this. But he’s guilty as sin and a con artist, though I can’t blame him for taking advantage of his supporters being so gullible and blindly loyal."

Another person mocked, "WOW What a puff piece, I can smell the fear and desperation. I’m still wondering why not testify under oath. I would think no one can plead your case better than you I don’t know afraid to be under oath and get caught in a lie."
