MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: During his appearance on 'The View' on June 20, Dr Anthony Fauci openly ridiculed the notion of facing charges from the GOP over his medical recommendations during the Covid pandemic, despite their threats to prosecute him.

Earlier in June, Dr Fauci testified before a House committee investigating the origins of COVID-19, stating that he is "open-minded" about the possibility that the virus originated in a Wuhan lab, despite having previously dismissed the theory.

When host Sara Haines inquired if he was genuinely concerned about Greene's threats, Dr Fauci responded candidly.

“You know, obviously you always take threats that people make seriously, but I quite frankly don’t know what they’re talking about,” he said, adding “What are the charges? That you saved millions of lives with the vaccine that you helped develop?”

He continued, “Or that you got people to do things that were interventions that made them more safe against a deadly pandemic that killed 1.2 million people? So if trying to save people’s lives is a crime, then I’m guilty.”

Following his early June hearing, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer accused Dr Fauci of lying about his involvement in setting COVID-19 masking and social distancing guidelines.

"Everyone knows that Dr. Fauci was the lead instigator in the spacing distance," Comer asserted.

Comer also stated that he "likes the idea" of Dr Fauci facing criminal charges for his actions during the pandemic and for allegedly lying to Congress.

Dr Fauci shares the Latin phrase that motivated him amid challenges

During the segment, Dr Fauci also shared an old Latin phrase that motivated him during his challenging years working under the Trump administration.

“One of the things that [my school] mentioned to us when things got down and you felt that the world was caving in on you was ‘illegitimi non carborundum,’” he explained, adding “Which means ‘don’t let the bastards wear you down.’ And boy does that hold true!”

As per CNN, The phrase "Don’t let the bastards wear you down," which Dr Anthony Fauci learned as a student at the Jesuit-run Regis High School in New York City, could easily serve as the guiding principle of his career.

Despite his focus on science, medicine, and public health, controversy has often sought him out, though he has endeavored to use it constructively.

In his new memoir, 'On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service,' Fauci recounts numerous instances where he navigated such contentious moments.

A follower contributed, "MONSTER MONSTER MONSTER Fauci is responsible for vocal cords being ripped out of beagle puppies so they wouldn’t cry while being tortured with his experiments! IS THAT FUNNY?"
