AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS: The Amsterdam police organization has criticized Nicki Minaj's account of events, challenging her assertion that she was pursued by authorities due to her race.

Dutch authorities have disputed claims that Minaj was the target of racial profiling after her detention in Amsterdam, saying instead that it was "annoying that she drew that card."

The 'Starships' singer was detained and fined by military officers at Amsterdam's Schipol airport on Saturday, May 25, after authorities claimed to have discovered "dozens of joints in her luggage."

Amsterdam authorities refute Nicki Minaj's allegations of racial discrimination

Authorities have reportedly questioned pop artist Nicki Minaj's claims that she was the target of racial profiling by police after being detained.

The Dutch Military Police (DMP) responded to remarks made by Minaj during a recent live stream on the social media platform Stationhead. Minaj asserted categorically that she was targeted by police because she's part of a "confident other race."

Minaj further alluded to certain sexism along with criticizing the DMP for supposed racism, saying that she only spoke to one lady during the event and that she was the only one who was kind.

In a statement given to TMZ in response to Minaj's accusations, a police department spokesperson conveyed their displeasure with her allegations of racism and profiling.

Robert Kappel, a department spokesperson, explained the government's position on the issue by criticizing the singer's claims and calling them "annoying" and "unfounded."

The spokesperson stated, "We just do our job, and it is protocol to search luggage and arrest a person when we find drugs."

"The arrest was around 17.30 and the release at 21.30. We stand for a professional organization that treats everybody equal, no matter what," Kappel added.

The incident transpired when Minaj's event in Manchester, England, was canceled because she was being held by police at the airport.

The police agency has denied the artist's claims of racism and justified their conduct, saying that they arrested her because they found illegal narcotics in her possession.

Nicki Minaj remains persistent in her criticism of authorities amid her arrest

The 'Bang Bang' singer continues to be adamant in her criticism of the police even in the wake of the uproar surrounding the arrest.

In a video addressing the situation, she emphasized the lack of empathy displayed by the authorities while also calling attention to the alleged racism she encountered and raising the possibility of some sexism in her interactions with the cops.

The pop singer admitted to her followers, "Not being able to get to Manchester, I don’t know when was the last time I felt that low."

"And not only that, but just knowing that something is being done to you on purpose. You are a confident other race, you know?" she added, per Radar Online.

Minaj further noted, "But I’m not going to get into it and tell you guys the joy they took in it, even while I was there. But you know what? There was one lady there – all the rest were men – and I could tell she had a heart."

The singer and law enforcement are still at odds, indicating that there is still a great deal to be done and that there might be other legal problems down the road.

Nicki Minaj slammed online for 'crying about racial profiling'

Social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam the singer for complaining about racial profiling after one user said in part, "Being arrested for soft drugs like weed in Amsterdam is definitely wrong. Racial profiling might've happened to her."

A user added, "Nicki Minaj really have over 30grams of weed in her luggage, that’s enough weed to fill 2 or 3 sandwich-size ziplock bags !! and she really was on Twitter and Instagram live for over 4 hours before getting arrested, crying about racial profiling and a “Pre-Roll” ?"

"@NICKIMINAJ funny, racial profiling always dragged into the subject when arrested for something. You both had drugs and everywhere in the world it is prohibited," remarked another in part of their comment.

One said, "Girl… u had drugs on you which is illegal in any airport ESPECIALLY!!! When flying to another country. Calm it down with the racial profiling. U commited an actual crime"

Another one exclaimed, "She could have murdered someone and you still would say it's "racial profiling" , certain actions have consequences, no matter the skin tone, race, etc. She smuggled drugs, in most countries she would still be in jail."
