Dwayne Johnson still 'wants to be president' but two things are keeping him out of politics this year
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dwayne Johnson has long-held political ambitions and aspires to be president, but he "isn’t interested in fighting about politics" in 2024 because he is caught up with work and family commitments.
"Dwayne still wants to be president, but for him 2024 is about two things: getting more movie projects in the can and getting the WWE and its roster of superstars ready for the move to Netflix," claimed a source close to the 'Jumanji' actor.
Dwayne Johnson's political ambitions are on hold
Following his triumphant return to the WWE on New Year’s Day 2024, Dwayne Johnson has faced significant challenges. The 52-year-old has reportedly battled severe injuries that have taken a toll on his body, including torn knee ligaments requiring multiple surgeries, spinal disc issues, a ruptured Achilles tendon, and a complete shoulder reconstruction.
Switching to full-time acting has allowed Johnson to ease his physical burdens while amassing an impressive $800 million net worth from over $3.4 billion in box office draws. His packed schedule continues to expand, especially with the release of a highly anticipated 'Moana' sequel, set to premiere on November 27.
With such a busy agenda, keeping up with political ambitions seems overwhelming. "For one thing, he’s been shooting all summer and can barely even look at the news when he’s on that kind of schedule," revealed the insider, as per In Touch.
Dwayne Johnson has put the real world on the back burner this year
Balancing his professional commitments with family time is also a priority for Dwayne Johnson. His wife, Lauren Hashian, desires more quality moments with him, as the couple shares two daughters, Jasmine, 8, and Tiana, 6.
An insider previously noted, "Lauren would like to see more of her husband. He's promising there will be time later in the year, but their friends are urging him to do something sooner to make her feel appreciated."

With his sights set on family and entertainment rather than politics, Johnson is choosing to focus on what truly matters to him.
The source added, "He’s just putting the real world on the back burner this year to focus on the things that made him famous in the first place: escapism, fun, and entertaining kids of all ages. Right now, nothing is more important to the guy."
Adding to the complexity, Johnson has been collaborating closely with UFC president Dana White, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump.
"For another thing, especially with his key coworker [Dana] emerging as such a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, Dwayne just isn’t interested in fighting about politics, publicly or privately, when he has so much else on his plate, including two back-to-back Moana projects to promote to very young audiences who don’t care one bit about politics," claimed the tipster.
