Ella Emhoff processes emotions through creativity on Substack
On Friday morning, November 8, Ella Emhoff took to her Substack series, Soft Pins, to further express her grief.
In a heartfelt post, she reflected on the emotional toll of the week and shared how she channels her feelings into creative outlets, such as homemade crafts inspired by Pinterest.
“Ooof… What. A. Week. I feel like we all need this extra this week,” she began, addressing her readers.
She also acknowledged the collective sense of sadness and stress following the election outcome, noting, “I know I’ve gone through about 10 cycles of sadness, rage, and stress, and that was just this morning.”
“I think it’s important to feel them all so they don’t fester inside,” she wrote, adding, “It can be really hard to create when things feel so uncertain."
Ella Emhoff's vocal campaign support and political activism
Ella Emhoff, who has been a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris, actively promoted her stepmother's campaign on social media throughout the election season.
Earlier this year, her political posts often revolved around international issues, particularly the conflict in Gaza.
In March, she was seen raising funds for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), despite the Biden administration cutting off financial support due to allegations of the agency’s ties to Hamas after the October 7 attacks on Israel.
While Emhoff has publicly stated that she does not identify as Jewish, despite her father Doug Emhoff's Jewish heritage, her calls for donations to provide “urgent relief for Gaza’s children” stirred controversy.
Critics argued that the funds might indirectly support terrorist activities, given the complex nature of aid distribution in conflict zones, according to the New York Post.
