LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After opening up about her difficult relationship with her father, Rob Schneider, Elle King has now reportedly claimed that her intention was not to “hurt” him.

Elle King doesn't regret getting things off her chest

However, despite everything, Elle King said she does not feel any remorse for talking freely.

She shared, “A lot of people said, 'How could she say that about her family?' and 'Everything needs to be behind closed doors.'”

“No, it doesn't. Sometimes you have to just say things and get them off your chest so that you don't have to carry them for the rest of your life."

"But ultimately, I think an apology on Tucker Carlson is like a double negative, right? Means nothing,” the ‘Ex's & Oh's’ songstress added.

Elle King does not support dad Rob Schneider's views

Last month, the Elle King, 35, revealed on Bunnie Xo’s ‘Dumb Blonde podcast’ that she was “a really, really heavy child” and her comedian father Rob Schneider “sent me to fat camp".

"And then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn't lose any weight. Very toxic and very silly,” she said, as per People.

At the time, she also mentioned that she “disagrees (s) with a lot of the things that he says.”

“You're talking out of your a** and you're talking s**t about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights and it's like get f**ked. He’s just talking out of his a** and I want to use this opportunity to say that I disagree,” the ‘Jersey Giant’ hitmaker shared.

“I do not agree with what he says,” King had asserted.

“I wish you the best. I feel terrible, and I just want you to know that I don’t take anything you say personally. I love you, and I feel that God has gifted this moment and gifted me to be able to tell you, I love you and I accept you and I apologize for any of my shortcomings.”

Schneider, who is also the father of two more children, born in 2012 and 2016, with his wife, Patricia Azarcoya, added, “All I want for her is to be happy and to heal from this. I apologize completely for this and accept responsibility for not being the parent that I am now with my new kids. She didn’t get that, and I missed a lot.”
