COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND: Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have reportedly made a permanent move from the United States. The 66-year-old talk show host, comedian, and actress has relocated to rural England after Donald Trump won the election, as per a recent article in The Wrap.

DeGeneres has established roots in the UK with her 51-year-old wife and they are said to have no intentions of returning to the US.

While the incoming Republican administration was mentioned as a catalyst, a fresh start might be beneficial. Ellen DeGeneres has acknowledged being "kicked out of show business" following reports of toxic workplace behavior on the syndicated 'Ellen' show in 2022.

DeGeneres has relocated to the Cotswolds, a pastoral region in south-central England, according to a source close the former television host. Additionally, her Montecito estate, located approximately 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, is expected to be listed for sale shortly.

DeGeneres is said to have purchased the expansive Montecito estate in 2019, making it the primary home for her and de Rossi as the fate of her other Southern California properties remains unclear.

A previous representative for Ellen DeGeneres said that she no longer works with the comedian following the completion of her comedy special and tour. DeGeneres has recently launched 'Four Your Approval', a stand-up program she created with Netflix.

The show details her activities after the 'Ellen' show, revealing that, apart from the comedy special, none of her pursuits have been connected to the entertainment industry.

“I decided to take up gardening,” DeGeneres remarked, adding “I got chickens. Let me see what else I can tell you about what’s been going on … Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business … Yeah, the ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”

She then voiced her wonder about whether she should have established different expectations.

“Had I ended my show by saying, ‘Go f–k yourselves,’ people would have been pleasantly surprised to find out I’m kind,” the comedian delivered a joke.
