Elon Musk calls Kamala Harris 'extinctionist' after JD Vance says VP doesn't want people to start families
WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk, the influential CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has stirred up controversy by launching a verbal attack on Vice President Kamala Harris.
This aggressive move came as Musk defended Republican Senator JD Vance, who has been under fire for his remarks about childless individuals in political leadership roles.
In a fiery post on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk accused Harris of harboring destructive ideologies, as reported by Daily Mail.
Shamala is an extinctionist. The natural extension of her philosophy would be a de facto holocaust for all of humanity!

Elon Musk rallies against Kamala Harris while siding with JD Vance
"Shamala is an extinctionist. The natural extension of her philosophy would be a de facto holocaust for all of humanity!" Musk wrote.
This explosive claim was made in response to a tweet from Vance, which highlighted a video clip of Harris discussing young people's anxiety about having children due to climate change concerns.
It's almost like these people don't want young people starting families or something. Really weird stuff. https://t.co/b3dot3ZCOh

In the resurfaced video, Harris said, "I've heard young leaders talk to me about a term they coined called climate anxiety, right? Which is fear of the future and the unknown of whether it makes sense for you to even think about having children."
Vance responded to the clip with skepticism, calling it "really weird stuff," while Musk's reaction escalated the rhetoric significantly.
Vance has been under intense scrutiny since comments he made in a 2021 interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson resurfaced and went viral.
In the interview, Vance criticized Democratic leadership, describing them as "childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too."
Vance questioned the logic of allowing people without a direct stake in the country's future to hold significant power, saying, "How does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?"
Despite the backlash, Vance has insisted that he does not harbor ill feelings toward childless individuals, particularly those who are unable to conceive. He has sought to clarify that his comments were not intended to insult anyone.
In a separate but related incident, Musk recently came under fire for retweeting a parody Harris campaign ad without labeling it as misleading, which is a violation of his own platform's rules.
The parody video manipulated segments of an actual Harris campaign video, adding a voiceover that mimicked Harris's voice, making it appear as though she was criticizing President Joe Biden and herself.
