Elon Musk labels John Oliver 'weak sauce' over last year's roast on 'Last Week Tonight', Internet agrees
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk, despite the onset of the new year, remains irked by comedian John Oliver's roast from 2023.
Taking to X on Tuesday, Musk expressed his disappointment, stating, "It is rather tragic to see an otherwise capable comedian like @iamjohnoliver become weak sauce."
Musk criticizes Oliver's comedy style
He continued, criticizing Oliver's current comedic style, attributing it to an excessive embrace of "wokeness."
"The reason he is not very funny these days is because he is too keen to pander to wokeness, which is fundamentally a lie, whereas great humor requires revealed truth," Musk continued.

Musk's criticism stems from the 'Last Week Tonight' roast
Musk's remarks stem from an episode of 'Last Week Tonight' titled 'Elon Musk,' in which the British comic poked fun at Musk and his companies, Tesla and X.
According to Business Insider, this recent jab isn't the first time Musk has slammed Oliver. Last month, Musk asserted that Oliver had lost his comedic touch, mentioning, "Oliver was great several years ago, but stopped being funny when he sold his soul to wokeness where humor is basically illegal."
Elon Musk hasn't shied away from publicly critiquing media figures or celebrities who have landed in his line of fire.
He previously mocked Paris Hilton after her company withdrew ads from X due to concerns about antisemitic content.
Musk quipped on X in December, commenting on Hilton's cookware line, "The ad campaign wasn't super convincing tbh. I don't think Paris cooks a lot."
When approached for comments regarding Musk's recent statements, representatives for both Musk and Oliver did not respond immediately to requests from Business Insider, sent outside regular business hours.
Social media reactions
Elon Musk's recent comments on John Oliver garnered reactions across social media.
One user wrote, "Why you hurt poor John's feelings though Elon?"
Another added, "Maybe a lot of people think he’s funnier now than in the past."

"Yes !!! Great humor requires revealed truth ...the higher the frequency the more real humor gets acquired...so much better on the high planes," replied one.
