NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A-list star star Emily Blunt recently opened up about her Golden Globe nomination for her role in ‘Oppenheimer’ as she joined ‘Today’ host Willie Geist.

Blunt is a versatile British actress known for her captivating performances in films such as ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘A Quiet Place.’

During Sunday sit down with Willie Geist, Blunt also discussed about the moment she and her husband John Krasinski realized the huge impact of ‘Oppenheimer.’

Emily Blunt opens up about her Golden Globe nomination

Emily Blunt who played Katherine Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s epic ‘Oppenheimer’ movie has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress at 81st Golden Globe Awards.

During Willie Geist’ conversation with Emily Blunt, the host asked, “What was this ride been like for you to sit back because there was a strike and watch it all happen?”

She responded, “I feel like we’re kind of awe struck by the reaction,” as Geist chimed in, “Were you guys talking to each other, behind the scenes saying, ‘Wow this thing’ really taking off’?”

Blunt replied, “Yes, I mean we were all on this chain, something called ‘Oppenhomies’ chain. So many wows, and exclusives just everyone jaws on the floor when it came out.”



 

Blunt also opened up about her role as Katherine ‘Kitty’ in the movie and said, “She was just a rebel, that was just a refusal to contort herself into being the housewife ideal.”

She also said people predicting her winning an award for the role is “deeply moving” for her.

She said, “It means so much to me that people talk about me in that way. You don’t set out to elicit that reaction. I love the work so much, I’m in love with this job and I’m in love with this movie and if people are talking about me in that, I’m so thrilled.”



 

Emily Blunt answers John Krasinski’s hilarious question

Towards the end of the conversation, Willie Geist brought up a question from Emily Blunt’s husband, John Krasinski.

Geist said quoting Krasinski, “Would you rather go on a lovely date night with husband, restaurant of your choosing, or stay home at watch the Great British Bake-off?”

She replied with a great laugh, “I’m just gonna get this wrong. I would much prefer to go on a date night with my husband. He knows I’m obsessed with Great British bake-off.”

She continued, “And you know what, there’s always time in the day for that, between the naps, the school run, and date night, I would be mainlining the Great British Bake-off into my veins.”
