Emma Stone and Kelsey Grammer's Emmy nomination snubs spark outcry among fans
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelsey Grammer's highly anticipated return as Dr Frasier Crane and Emma Stone's standout performance in the groundbreaking series 'The Curse' were notable absences from this year's Emmy nominations.
The surprising omissions left fans enraged and irritated, with some attempting to figure out why.
When will the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards air?
The upcoming 76th Emmy Awards Night is scheduled for September 15 and will air live from the Peacock Theatres in Los Angeles.
The awards night is poised to celebrate standout shows like FX's historical epic 'Shogun', the compelling dramedy 'The Bear', and Richard Gadd's provocative Netflix hit, 'Baby Reindeer'.
Grammer has historically been a favorite at the Emmys, earning nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role in the NBC sitcom 'Cheers' in 1988 and 1990.
His portrayal of Dr Frasier Crane also garnered consecutive nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor from 1994 to 2002, with an additional nod in 2004 during the original run of 'Frasier'.
He clinched the award four times (1994, 1995, 1998, and 2004), and added another Emmy in 2006 for his voiceover performance as Sideshow Bob on 'The Simpsons'.
However, his return in the spin-off 'Frasier', which started airing in October 2023, was overlooked in this year's nominations.
On a similar note, despite Stone's status as a two-time Oscar winner, her performance in the daring satirical black comedy 'The Curse' went unrecognized.
The series, in which the actress starred alongside co-creators Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, has been loved by fans for its bold originality.
