Empire State Building lights up blue in iconic tribute to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: The Empire State Building glowed in sparkling light blue on Friday, July 3, to celebrate the wedding of singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, transforming the iconic landmark into the bride's traditional "something blue."
The celebration came ahead of the couple tying the knot in a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden, officiated by comedian and actor Adam Sandler, where family, friends, and hundreds of guests gathered to witness the occasion.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Empire State Building teased the tribute with a glowing electric blue light show. Sharing footage of the display on Instagram, the building captioned the post, "Her something blue," with a blue heart emoji.
Its website described the illumination as a "light blue sparkle color." The display followed confirmation of the wedding at Madison Square Garden, where illuminated signs around the venue read, "JUST&T MARRIED!" The message referenced the couple's August 2025 engagement announcement, which read, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
A press release after the ceremony confirmed that Swift and Kelce both wore Christian Dior Haute Couture.
"Christian Dior Haute Couture is delighted to confirm it has created the wedding looks for the marriage of Taylor and Travis. They have been created in Dior's ateliers at 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris, and designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women's, Men's and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the couple," a Dior representative told PEOPLE.
It further said, "Jonathan Anderson and the house of Dior extend their congratulations to the Bride and Groom." Instead of traditional wedding parties, Swift's brother Austin Swift served as her man of honor, while Kelce's brother Jason Kelce was his best man.
Wedding celebrations began with a rehearsal dinner on Thursday, attended by around 100 close friends and family members. The formal event featured pink drapes, massive floral displays, and diamond-studded champagne flutes presented in velvet boxes as gifts for guests.

The following day, approximately 1,000 A-list guests attended the ceremony and reception. Beginning June 29, trucks carrying equipment, grass, and decorations were seen arriving at the venue, while boxes labeled "Garden Party" and "Mirror Ball" were spotted outside.
The day before the wedding, the singer's representatives said that the couple donated $26 million to several organizations, including Feeding America, the ASPCA, and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
They announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26, 2025, sharing photos from a garden proposal. Swift wrote alongside images showing Kelce proposing with a custom engagement ring designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, featuring an old mine brilliant-cut diamond on a gold band.
During an August 26, 2025, episode of 'The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma,' Travis' father, Ed Kelce, revealed that he had sought Scott Swift's permission about a month before proposing. A source close to the couple later told PEOPLE that the Kelce family "adore Taylor," noting that she made an effort to show care for the entire family.
According to the source, "They're all very, very happy that Travis has Taylor in his life. She's entirely changed his world in all the best ways, and they're true partners." Their relationship began after he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number during one of her 'Eras Tour' concerts.
