Tatiana Schlossberg’s life and career
Schlossberg’s family announced her death in a social media post shared by the John F Kennedy Library Foundation, writing, "Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts."
Schlossberg died just a month after she shared in The New Yorker that doctors had diagnosed her with acute myeloid leukemia.
She mentioned it was a rare form, with something called Inversion 3, a genetic mutation you don’t see in most cases. They found the cancer not long after she gave birth to her daughter in May 2024.
Schlossberg detailed her diagnosis and the grueling treatment process in her essay, reflecting, “I did not—could not—believe that they were talking about me.”

In his tribute, Swalwell joined other public figures in underscoring that Schlossberg’s voice extended far beyond her family’s famous name.
Lawmakers, activists, and readers of her work recognized her for tackling complex issues with clarity and care, from climate change to public health.
