PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, penned a deeply emotional message of faith and remembrance on Friday, October 10, a month after his tragic killing.

She took to Instagram to reflect on her grief and the unbreakable love she still carries for her late husband.

Erika Kirk reflects on grief and divine strength

“There is no linear blueprint for grief,” Erika Kirk began her post.

“One day you’re collapsed on the floor crying out the name Jesus in between labored breaths. The next you’re playing with your children in the living room, surrounded by family photos, and feeling a rush of something you can only attempt to define as divinely planted and bittersweet joy as a smile breaks through on your face," she continued.

Erika Kirk says she carries Charlie 'in every breath, in every ache'

Erika Kirk’s post also carried a message of enduring love through pain.

“They say time heals. But love doesn’t ask to be healed. Love asks to be remembered. It’s humbling to realize that this magnitude of suffering didn’t steal my love for my husband. It amplified it. It crystallized it,” she wrote.

She continued, “I carry my Charlie in every breath, in every ache, and in every quiet act of day-to-day living as I attempt to relearn what that rhythm will be."

"And what I’ve realized through these past 30 days is the greater the suffering, the purer the love. And I have never loved him more than I do now," she concluded.

A love story grounded in basketball and purpose

In an earlier Instagram post, Erika Kirk shared a snippet about how they began dating.

She wrote in remembrance of her late husband, "When we first started dating, we went to the basketball court to shoot around. I loved seeing you in that element because time was irrelevant. It was just us, the sound of sneakers squeaking and jump shots."

Mrs Kirk added, "We bonded over how Jordan was the GOAT and you told me about your basketball days in high school and I told you about my basketball days in college. Just two athletes escaping the demands of the world for a minute."

Erika also said about her late husband, "I remember seeing on your wrist a red bracelet. You never took it off, it said 'work harder, be better.' And everyday you did just that."

Charlie, an influential figure in modern conservative politics and the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was fatally shot while hosting a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10.
