BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and ex-HR chief Kristin Cabot created a massive stir when they were spotted hugging during Chris Martin's Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium.
What looked like a secret office romance on the kiss cam was actually just a "friendly" hug.
Ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and former HR chief Kristin Cabot were 'friends'
Two months after the scandal that nearly shook the world, the story is gaining attention again. New information has come forward, revealed by a source close to Kristin Cabot.
According to People, the source confirmed that the two were simply close friends and colleagues.
“Kristin and Andy had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” the source revealed.
“It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it,” the source continued, “but the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job — all of that is unfair.”

The source added that the incident was shocking and “devastating,” not just for the individuals involved, but for their families as well.
“It’s unfathomable to witness what has happened and how devastating it can be for not just individuals but entire families,” the source added.
“All I can think of is that this could happen to any of us at any time. I think all of the misinformation has been the most mind-blowing to witness.”

What exactly happened at Chris Martin's concert
Kristin Cabot, 53, and former tech CEO Andy Byron, 51, were caught on the big screen at Gillette Stadium on July 16.
The jumbotron showed them hugging and smiling, unaware of the camera.
When they realized they were on the kiss cam, the pair quickly ducked and tried to hide their faces. But the damage was already done.
“Oh, what?” lead singer Chris Martin said after they tried to hide their faces at a Coldplay “Music of the Spheres World Tour” gig in Massachusetts.
“I hope we didn’t do something bad," he said. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
