ARLINGTON, TEXAS: Former NFL cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones is back in the headlines after another brush with the law, and this time it happened at a Texas hotel bar. Yep, the former Cincinnati Bengals star found himself facing several charges after a wild night out that ended with his arrest.

According to the Arlington Police Department (APD), Jones, 41, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, November 16. The charges against him include public intoxication, assaulting a peace officer, and resisting and evading arrest.

The whole ordeal went down at the Loews Arlington Hotel. It all began just after 1 am when an off-duty officer working a shift at the hotel got a heads-up from security that “a fight had broken out in the bar area.”

By the time the officer arrived, the scuffle had already cooled off a bit with Jones and the others involved having “been separated,” according to the APD's statement.

But instead of backing down, Jones kept at it. Police reported that he was “continuing to approach and yell at the others involved,” which led the officer to intervene. She warned Jones that if he “tried to fight again, he would be arrested.”

However, Jones didn’t take the warning seriously.

Another fight erupted a short time later and once again the officer and hotel security had to jump in to break things up.

“While the officer and hotel security were working to separate the individuals involved, Mr Jones hit the officer on her arm,” the APD said in its statement. “At that point, [the officer] informed Mr Jones [that] she was placing him under arrest for Assault on a Peace Officer.”

The situation didn’t end there. The officer called for backup and tried to handcuff Adam 'Pacman' Jones, but he managed to “get free and started walking away,” the APD said.

Eventually, more officers showed up and they were able to get him under control and take him into custody.

Jones was booked into the Arlington City Jail around 3.30 am and his bail was set at $319. That’s not a huge amount, but the real issue here is the seriousness of the charges he’s facing.

However, Jones' team is telling a different story. A representative for Jones spoke to TMZ Sports — which first broke the news — and said that the former NFL player "adamantly denies the allegations and looks forward to explaining the truth when the time comes".

The rep also shared that Jones was in town for the highly-anticipated Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight, “like thousands of other people in Dallas last night". They insisted that Jones was simply “enjoying himself, spending time with the fans". He added that "Pacman was returning to his hotel to wind down for the evening” and “was not looking for trouble."

Adam 'Pacman' Jones' history of legal troubles

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Adam 'Pacman' Jones has found himself on the wrong side of the law. In fact, it seems like legal troubles have followed him throughout his career. Just last year, he was arrested at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Reports at the time described him as an “unruly passenger” who caused quite a disturbance on a flight. That incident led to misdemeanor charges of alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening.

And before that, back in 2017, Jones grabbed headlines when he was arrested at the Millennium Hotel in Cincinnati. Police confirmed to People that he faced charges of assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and even harassment with a bodily substance.
