WASHINGTON, DC: As anti-Israel protests sweep across the nation, a resurfaced social media post by President Joe Biden from his 2020 presidential campaign has ignited a firestorm of controversy.

In the wake of escalating violence and disruptions on college campuses linked to the protests, Biden's past remarks blaming then-President Donald Trump for unrest in the US have come under renewed scrutiny, as reported by Fox News.

Biden's tweet, "Remember: every example of violence Donald Trump decries has happened on his watch. Under his leadership. During his presidency," has been revisited by social media users in light of recent events.

The escalation of violence and disruptions on college campuses, stemming from anti-Israel activism, has raised doubts about Biden's leadership among many.

Conservative commentators have been notably outspoken in their criticism.

Stephen Miller, a prominent commentator on the right, wrote on X, "It's now the year 2024, three full years into Joe Biden's presidency, and Jewish students are being blocked from their college campuses, and being told to stay home and remote learn. Is this the soul of the nation healed?"

Similarly, Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe criticized Biden for turning a blind eye to the chaos unfolding at universities, remarking, "Joe Biden has looked the other way as Democrat foot soldiers hijack universities across America. He's more concerned about winning votes in Dearborn, Michigan, than condemning the 20-year-olds cheering for intifada."

Former White House press secretary and Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer stated, "There are antisemitic uprisings on campuses across the country, and all Joe Biden can do is passively sit there and hope they go away. He's shown no leadership, despite this being far worse than the two-day Unite the Right protest in Charlottesville."

Americans feel less secure under Joe Biden's presidency compared to previous years

Public sentiment regarding Biden's handling of the situation has shifted negatively. David Avella, chairman of GOPAC, cited polling data indicating a widespread perception of decreased safety under Biden's presidency.

He pointed to Gallup's findings, which showed a significant portion of Americans feeling less secure compared to previous years.

Conservatives on social media have also highlighted other statements from Biden's 2020 presidential campaign, including one where he questioned, "Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is reelected?"

Internet wastes no time in lambasting Joe Biden in the wake of his resurfaced tweet

The resurfaced Biden tweet sparked controversy on social media, particularly in the comments section of Fox News, where users wasted no time in criticizing him harshly.

One user said, "If people don't want to lose their America, they better vote Biden out. Life is really getting dangerous for a lot of states because nobody will do anything to protect them."

Another user stated, "Take Trump out of the equation, and Biden wouldn't be given the time of day by anyone. He exists on TDS alone."

"Biden has never stood for anything other than getting elected. He's spent his life saying things that he thinks will buy him votes, but he has not an ounce of moral fiber or conviction. This is simply no different, and his lack of leadership on this isn't a surprise," a user wrote.

Another criticized Biden's competence, remarking, "Biden...The disappearing, hiding out, always on the wrong side of every issue, failure-in-chief is being exposed for his total lack of competence. To think this guy could have criticized former president Trump is a joke." [sic]

A user questioned Biden's leadership abilities, stating, "In no way shape, or form has Biden ever been a leader nor has he ever done what was best for all Americans."

A user accused Biden of avoiding responsibility, asserting, "President Biden has always blamed others for issues etc that occur on his watch. He is very good at taking credit for the work of others as well. You can only do this so much until it backfires on you." [sic]

Another user highlighted, "Once again Joe Biden is experiencing the painful lesson that it's much easier to criticize a president of the United States then to actually be one."

Lastly, a user criticized Biden's political track record, stating, "Joe Biden is a 50-year politician. He will say or do whatever works to his political advantage at any given moment. Sincerity, honesty, consistency and integrity are not behaviors he's familiar with."
