NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A rumor has been going around that Adam Sandler testified against Sean “Diddy” Combs during his trafficking trial in New York City.

The claim is that Sandler was spotted in court on or around May 30, spilling his guts on the witness stand.

A now-viral YouTube video titled “1 MINUTE AGO: Adam Sandler Testifies In Court On Day 14 Of Diddy Trial” racked up over 374,000 views. The video seems to have been taken down at the time of this writing.

Regardless, the rumor spread quickly on Facebook, X, and TikTok.

Fact Check: False

Snopes did a deep dive and found that no court reports from entertainment or news outlets on May 30 (which, by the way, was Day 13 of Diddy’s trial) mention Adam Sandler at all.

Meanwhile, Getty Images and court sketches from that day also show no sign of him.

It gets even murkier when you realize that Day 14 of the trial—when those video titles claimed Sandler gave his supposed testimony—actually took place on June 2, a few days after those YouTube clips were uploaded.

So, not only was there no real-time confirmation, but the timeline itself doesn’t match up.

A Google search for proof turned up absolutely nothing. Snopes reached out to Sandler’s team to see if he had plans to testify, but they haven't responded at the time of this writing.

Where’s this coming from?

The original clips that made the claim were marked as “Altered or synthetic content." If that wasn’t a big enough red flag, they also included disclaimers saying they were for “entertainment and educational purposes only”.

But one video went even further off the rails. While it didn’t carry the “altered” label, it still had that “educational purposes” disclaimer—yet falsely credited its claims to Inner City Press, a real outlet that covers the Southern District Court of New York (where Diddy’s case is unfolding).

It's worth noting that this isn’t the first time people have falsely dragged Inner City Press into a celeb trial rumor.

We have previously fact-checked stories about Usher supposedly testifying, and also looked into whether Wendy Williams and Samuel L Jackson ever took the stand (they didn’t).

The case against Sean 'Diddy' Combs

While Adam Sandler is minding his own business, the federal criminal case against Diddy is no joke. In New York, the music mogul is facing charges for racketeering conspiracy and two counts of trafficking.

Accusations include kidnapping, drugging, and coercing women into compromising acts, sometimes allegedly involving firearms or threats of violence.

During a raid on Diddy’s Los Angeles mansion, police reportedly found party supplies that included drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil—items allegedly tied to wild parties dubbed “freak offs.”

Meanwhile, Diddy is also facing a slew of separate lawsuits from across the country. Tony Buzbee, a high-profile Texas attorney, says over 100 women and men have either filed or are preparing to file assault and abuse accusations against the Bad Boy mogul, the BBC reported.

As for Combs’ camp, they’re brushing it all off and calling the deluge of lawsuits “clear attempts to garner publicity."
