LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When wildfires rage across Los Angeles, they leave a trail of death and destruction — and it’s no surprise that rumors related to them also spread like wildfire.

Amid the devastating fires — which have claimed 27 lives and destroyed over 17,000 homes thus far — social media was rife with claims that pop superstar Jennifer Lopez’s mansion had burned to the ground. But is there any truth to this?

Is Jennifer Lopez’s LA home safe?

Social media platforms and YouTube were flooded with posts claiming that Jennifer Lopez’s Los Angeles mansion was a casualty of the Palisades fire.

One YouTube video went as far as to claim Lopez was hospitalized after sustaining serious burns in the wildfire. However, the video turned out to be nothing more than clickbait.

Instead of citing evidence or facts, the video featured an AI-generated narrator rambling incoherently about unrelated topics. It mentioned everything from California Governor’s Office evacuation orders to Lopez’s upcoming movie premiere for 'Unstoppable', a biopic about wrestler Anthony Robles.

The narrator even threw in a bizarre claim that this happened right after Lopez and Ben Affleck reached a divorce settlement. In short, the video offered no proof that Lopez’s mansion was affected or that she was injured.

A simple Google search also debunks the rumors. No credible reports suggest that Jennifer Lopez’s house was damaged in the fires or that she suffered any injuries. While many celebrities have faced real tragedies during these wildfires, Lopez isn’t one of them. Her home remains intact, and there’s no evidence to suggest otherwise.

Celebrities who did lose their homes in LA fires

While Jennifer Lopez’s mansion appears to be safe, several other celebrities weren’t as fortunate. Among those whose homes were destroyed are Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Paris Hilton, Cameron Mathison, Billy Crystal, and Spencer Pratt with Heidi Montag.

1. Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton’s $8.4 million oceanfront mansion in Malibu, where she lived with her husband Carter Reum and their children, was completely demolished.

3. Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore’s stunning mid-century modern home in the Pasadena hills was also destroyed. The house had been meticulously refurbished to reflect its 1950s charm. Reports suggest Mandy and her family are currently staying with friends, including Matthew Koma and Hilary Duff, in Beverly Hills.

4. Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson’s massive oceanfront Malibu property wasn’t spared either. Gibson called this place home for 15 years, but the flames left nothing behind.

Current state of LA fires

Fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, the wildfires have wreaked havoc across the Los Angeles area.

The Palisades fire — which began on January 7 — has grown to over 23,700 acres and is 49% contained, according to Cal Fire. It has damaged or destroyed more than 5,000 structures in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Santa Monica.

The Eaton Fire erupted in a canyon near national forest lands north of Los Angeles. It has scorched 14,117 acres and is 73% contained. Over 10,300 structures have been confirmed as damaged or destroyed. Meanwhile, other smaller fires such as the Lidia, Archer, and Sunset blazes were fully contained as of Friday night after collectively burning over 2,000 acres.

Firefighters are continuing to make progress, NBC News reported.
