Fact Check: Did Jim Carrey testify at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs' infamous federal trial?

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: With Sean "Diddy" Combs' infamous trial taking over the headlines, a wave of trumped-up rumors has been dragging famous A-listers into the mess.
After Samuel L Jackson and Steve Harvey, the latest celeb to fall prey to these rumors is Jim Carrey.
The rumors started flying after a slew of social media posts and videos shockingly claimed that ‘The Mask’ star has testified in the music mogul's infamous trial, which started nearly eight months after his arrest on a range of criminal charges.
There have been at least a dozen YouTube videos outlining the shocking titbit, but is there any truth to this? Let's find out below.
Claim: Jim Carrey testified at Sean 'Diddy' Combs' trial
On May 29, a manager of the ‘Black Is Best’ YouTube channel posted a video with a title reading "1 MINUTE AGO: Jim Carrey Testifies In Court On Day 12 Of Diddy Trial."
The video, which has garnered over 344,000 views as of this writing, shockingly claimed that the ‘Satisfy You’ rapper forced Jim Carrey to step into a bath filled with cold tomato sauce.
The thumbnail of the video also included a seemingly AI-generated inset, showing a shirtless Combs behind a shirtless Carrey, along with a caption suggesting sexual activity.
The same day, another YouTube channel named ‘WhatIsMyStarWorth’ posted a similar video with the title "1 MINUTE AGO: Jim Carrey 'I Took a Bath with Diddy to Get Famous' This Flipped the Courtroom..."
The video claimed that the ‘Yes Man’ actor took the witness box in court and testified that he “took a bath with 'Diddy' to get famous."
The thumbnail image of the video featured Combs and Carrey in bathrobes, with the caption "I felt helpless."
The rumors were heavily circulated on social media after the shocking videos went viral on the internet.
Fact check: No credible evidence to back viral claim that Jim Carrey testified in Diddy trial
The shocking claims made in the viral videos are completely false, as there is no concrete evidence to back the rumor that Jim Carrey testified in Diddy’s trial.

A thorough sweep of Google and DuckDuckGo turns up no credible reporting of such an event, and no legitimate news outlet has confirmed a word of the claim, fact-checking outlet Snopes confirmed.
The disclaimers of the two videos in question also raise red flags over the shocking rumours, as they mention that their content is just a fictional piece of information.
"Disclaimer: This content is fictional and intended for entertainment purposes only. No verified court evidence or official statements confirm these claims,” the disclaimer reads.
The two aforementioned YouTube creators, among others, have been spreading fabricated information regarding Combs' background and trial for a while now.
They continued a long line of videos featuring AI-generated editing, scripting and voice narration. The clips included authentic photos alongside fabricated rumors about celebrities' involvement with Combs, seemingly all for YouTube advertising revenue.
This isn’t the first Diddy-related rumor to get torched by fact-checkers, and it definitely won’t be the last. Earlier headlines falsely claimed that Wendy Williams and Usher took the stand in the trial.
