LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A viral claim has recently made waves online, suggesting that Hollywood actor Kurt Russell claimed it has been proven that Joe Biden cheated in the 2020 election through mail-in ballots. The claim, circulating since October, gained significant attention after a Facebook user shared the alleged quote from Russell.

This comes a month after Donald Trump declared victory in the election, receiving support from several Hollywood figures, including Dennis Quaid, model Amber Rose, and wrestler Hulk Hogan. Let's uncover the details to determine whether the report quoting Russell is "true or false."

What is the viral claim involving Kurt Russell?

On December 2, an X user, @TrumpRealDaily, shared a post claiming that Hollywood actor Kurt Russell said, "It is now proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden CHEATED in the 2020 election with mail-in ballots."

The post ended with the question, "Do you agree with Kurt Russell?" and provided two options for users to choose from - "A - YES" and "B- NO." As of December 11, the claim had gained significant traction online, with over 257,000 viewers, 7,400 comments, and 21,000 likes, indicating widespread speculation and belief that the actor's quote was true.

Notably, the claims originated from an X user, @MelaniaTrumpo, who shared the same tweet as the recent one, accompanied by an image of Kurt Russell. The post garnered over 1 million views within two months of being shared online.

These posts are not the only one circulating about Kurt Russell's alleged statement. Other posts with nearly identical wording have also been shared. According to Newsweek, similar versions of the quote about mail-in ballots have been seen earlier this year.

Kurt Russell's viral quote involving Joe Biden has been debunked

When it came time to fact-check the viral claim, which garnered millions of views, it was determined to be false. The initial claim, attributed to Kurt Russell, originated from an X user @MelaniaTrumpo, whose account is reportedly a parody that shares satirical content.

Furthermore, there is no credible evidence supporting the claim that Russell made this statement, and it has been misattributed in the past.

Additionally, regarding Russell's stance on sharing political views online, he stated in a 2020 interview with the New York Times, "You should step away from saying anything so that you can still be seen by the audience in any character."

He also added, “The one thing I don't agree with is that just because we have a platform, we always have to use it." This clearly shows that Russell does not publicly discuss politics.
