LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A viral social media post claimed that Taylor Swift performed the AI-generated tribute song ‘We Are Charlie Kirk’ at her July 2026 wedding to Travis Kelce.

The claim gained traction as the song, which became a widely shared online meme following Charlie Kirk's death in 2025, resurfaced alongside renewed interest in the couple's high-profile wedding. Let’s fact-check the claim.

Claim: Taylor Swift performed 'We Are Charlie Kirk' at her wedding to Travis Kelce

Comedian Dan Carney originated the claim by posting that Taylor Swift performed the viral AI-generated tribute song 'We Are Charlie Kirk' at her July 2026 wedding to Travis Kelce.

Playing on the popular "breaking my NDA" joke, he wrote, "I might be breaking my NDA by saying this, but Taylor Swift sang 'We Are Charlie Kirk' at her wedding."

The post gained traction as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's high-profile wedding celebrations dominated headlines during the July 4, 2026, holiday weekend.

It capitalized on widespread public interest in the couple's wedding while referencing the viral AI-generated 'We Are Charlie Kirk' memes that circulated online following Charlie Kirk's death in 2025.

The claim also spread amid reports that Swift planned to perform a song for Kelce during the wedding reception, making the satirical post appear more believable to some social media users.

Fact Check: False

The claim is false. Comedian Dan Carney posted it as satire, and there is no evidence that Taylor Swift performed the AI-generated tribute song 'We Are Charlie Kirk' or any similar song during her wedding celebrations.

Coverage of Swift and Travis Kelce's early July 2026 wedding focused on the guest list, the ceremony, and the celebrations, with no credible reports mentioning the viral AI-generated track.

Although several outlets reported that Swift planned to perform for Kelce during the reception, none identified the song as 'We Are Charlie Kirk.'

Media reports said a person believed to be working at the event claimed Swift was expected to perform alongside Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, while another source said Swift and Nicks conducted a sound check at Madison Square Garden before the ceremony. However, no report described the set list or mentioned the AI-generated tribute song.

There is no evidence that Swift recorded, endorsed, or publicly performed the song at any event. The viral X post relied on the familiar "breaking my NDA" joke, a common internet trope used to present fictional claims as insider information for comedic effect. It did not cite any witnesses, recordings, or credible sources.
