Fact Check: Did Tiger Woods cut business ties with Jeff Bezos over Trump?

WASHINGTON, DC: Viral social media posts claim that Tiger Woods has cut business ties with Amazon and Jeff Bezos because of Bezos’ professional connection with President Donald Trump.

In October, a social media post began circulating online claiming that Woods had taken a public stand against Bezos. According to the post, shared by a Facebook account, the golfer wrote on his personal blog that, “You support Trump, you support hate. I cannot be a part of that.”

But what’s really behind this quote? Read more to know about the claim and what the truth is behind it.

How did the claim about Tiger Woods cutting ties with Jeff Bezos over Donald Trump go viral?

On Tuesday, October 21, a Facebook page named @Inumidun Adesola shared a post that the golfer made a revelation about Bezos in his personal blog. The Facebook post shares, “Wake up, Jeff.” - Tiger Woods suddenly announced that he would pull all of his endorsement deals and business partnerships from Amazon, criticizing Jeff Bezos’ relationship with Trump. The statement quickly became an ultimatum that silenced both Bezos and the public."

The post further quotes Woods as saying, “You support Trump, you support hate. I cannot be a part of that.” It goes on to claim that Bezos was caught off guard by the decision, while President Trump allegedly fired back on Truth Social, calling Woods a “traitor to the game.”

The Facebook page added, “But Tiger Woods was undeterred. He continued to respond with 8 short words that silenced Trump, and social media exploded in support of him.”

This is not just the end, along with the long note, they have a collage image of Woods and Trump side by side, with Bezos’ image also included. 

Within two weeks, the post garnered 2.8 thousand likes, 771 comments, and 189 shares.

Fact check: Tiger Woods made no move to cut ties with Jeff Bezos due to Donald Trump

No. There is no record of Tiger Woods making any such statement about Jeff Bezos or President Donald Trump, not on his vlog, Instagram posts, Instagram Stories, X (formerly Twitter) account, or in any interview. Not now or in any previous interviews. 

We searched several platforms like Google, Google Analytics, YouTube, X, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo revealed no authentic news reports from reputed news outlets confirming any professional conflict between Woods and Bezos. Even sports and business media organizations that regularly cover both figures have not mentioned any such news.

Additionally, neither Donald Trump’s Truth Social account nor any official White House communication (past or present) has addressed or acknowledged this alleged incident.

Well, the Facebook page @Inumidun Adesola, which frequently shares stories about Tiger Woods, shares AI-generated images, and most of the news is fake.
