VENICE, ITALY: Jeff Bezos may have spent millions on his lavish Venice wedding, but his tuxedo is stealing headlines for all the wrong reasons.

After the Amazon founder tied the knot with Lauren Sanchez on Friday, June 27, in front of a star-studded guest list, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, and Tom Brady, fashion critics were quick to pounce on his wedding-day look.

Jeff Bezos's lavish Italian wedding to Lauren Sanchez may have dazzled with its guest list and setting, but it quickly drew criticism from high-profile fashion experts. Among them was the prestigious Milan-based fashion house F Caraceni Sartoria, renowned for tailoring suits for European politicians and royals, including Prince William.

Taking to Instagram shortly after the event, the atelier shared photos of Bezos in his all-black tuxedo and didn't hold back in their critique. The caption offered a scathing review of the billionaire's wedding day style, "The most terrible, frightening, horrible tuxedo ever seen in my life. Omg... Elegance is not an empty word. I can't stand it. Really suffering…"

Liz Teich discusses several style missteps in Jeff Bezos’s wedding look

New York-based personal stylist Liz Teich shared her expert take on Jeff Bezos’s wedding look, pointing out several style missteps that detracted from the billionaire’s big day ensemble.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, she shared, "My biggest criticism of his look is that I wish he didn't choose a pre-tied bow tie. It always looks more elevated to tie your own."

Teich also noticed what appeared to be an iPhone bulging from Bezos’s pant pocket, which she considers a major fashion faux pas.

"I may never let my husband live it down for having his iPhone showing in his pant pocket for every photograph at our wedding,” she joked.

Teich added, “But just like my husband, Jeff may have been more focused on what's happening around them and his bride [to think about how his iPhone might look].”

Additionally, she observed that Bezos’s tuxedo seemed slightly too small, noting that the shirt sleeves didn’t extend properly past the jacket cuff and the fabric pulled slightly at the buttons.

While she personally prefers snug over loose fits, she found it surprising that someone of Bezos’s wealth, worth an estimated $226 billion, wouldn’t have a perfectly tailored suit.

“Dress shirt sleeves should hit right past the base of the thumb and show about half of an inch of the cuff out of the jacket sleeve. Judging by length... and how it's pulling at the button, it may be slightly small on him, though as a stylist, I appreciate a fitted suit over a sloppy, baggy one,” Teich explained.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez faced criticism for taking over the city with their lavish wedding

The backlash against Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez extended far beyond the billionaire’s controversial tuxedo. Their lavish wedding in Venice has sparked outrage among local groups and activists who accuse the couple of disrupting the city with their extravagant celebration.

Roughly a dozen Venetian organizations — including housing advocates, anti-cruise ship activists, and university groups — staged protests under the slogan “No Space for Bezos,” a pointed reference to Bezos’s space company, Blue Origin, and Sanchez’s recent flight into space.

The demonstrators, made up of left-wing, environmental, and social justice groups, voiced concerns that the opulent event symbolized the growing commercialization and exclusivity of Venice. One banner read, “Money cannot buy style,” while another took a jab at the couple’s future, stating, “55 million dollars spent on the wedding just to get a divorce in three days.”
