Lauren Sanchez pays unconventional Valentine’s Day tribute to fiance Jeff Bezos

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO: This Valentine's Day Lauren Sanchez ditched the conventional way of celebrating love and decided to take a different approach in wishing her fiance, Jeff Bezos.

Instead of posting a classic couple’s portrait, the journalist-turned-author reposted a 2024 black-and-white snapshot of Bezos hard at work in his office.

“Happy Valentine’s Day my love,” Lauren Sanchez wrote on her Instagram Stories, letting the simplicity of the image speak volumes.

The choice was far from random—this wasn’t just any desk. It was one of the first desks Bezos used when he started Amazon, a symbol of the relentless drive that built his empire.

Sanchez had actually shared the same photo weeks earlier, shortly after Bezos’ birthday on January 12, 2024, marveling at his dedication.

“I just love that he is still working from one of the first desks that have been around since the beginning (see next slide),” she wrote at the time.

“This is where countless hours of hard work meet the heart of Day one. Here’s to the endless pursuit of what’s possible. ❤️” she added.

The Valentine’s Day tribute wasn’t entirely without a traditional touch—earlier in the day, Sanchez had posted an image of pastel heart-shaped candies with sweet messages like "kiss me" and "let's hang."

Lauren Sanchez’s post comes on the heels of another major milestone—the successful launch of Jeff Bezos-owned Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket.

The couple celebrated the achievement with an emotional embrace, which Sanchez later posted, writing: “Thinking about these moments at the launch. From intense focus, to pure joy, to that incredible moment New Glenn lit up the sky. CONGRATULATIONS to the entire Blue team .. what a first launch 🚀💙.”

And just last month, Bezos took his turn celebrating Sanchez, posting a heartfelt tribute for her 55th birthday.

His message not only honored their relationship but also highlighted her success as an author.

“You set your mind to writing a children’s book and now you’re a NYT best-selling author,” he wrote. “I have a feeling your next trip around the sun will be just as amazing. Happy birthday, baby!” he added.

Despite their high-profile status and several business ventures, Sanchez has shared that their happiest moments are often the simplest.

While promoting her book 'The Fly Who Flew to Space', she told People, “My favorite time is when the house is calm and quiet and Jeff and I are deciding what show we're going to binge that night.”

As for wedding plans, like any modern bride, Sanchez has turned to Pinterest for inspiration. “I'm just like every other bride, so I do have a Pinterest board” she shared in a recent Today show appearance, adding that she's especially focused on the dress.
