OREM, UTAH: A rumor has been going around about the father of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old Utah man accused of killing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

According to social media chatter, Robinson’s father supposedly owns the construction company that “paved over” the area where Kirk was shot dead at Utah Valley University (UVU) on September 10.

Wild theory makes rounds on social media

“Tyler Robinson's Dad Owns the Construction Company That Paved Over Charlie Kirk's Blood? RT If You Demand Answers!” one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote in a now-viral post.

The same account added, “They ripped up the bloody grass where he was shot & slapped down a concrete pad—PLUS re-mudded the tunnel roof behind it. No-one knows who they are.”

"WTF Precision Granite & Marble LLC (owned by suspect Tyler Robinson's dad, Matt Robinson) wow," another wrote.

Someone else chimed in with even more detail. “UVU employed Precision Granite & Marble LLC for post-Charlie Kirk assassination site work at the Orem campus courtyard—replacing grass with concrete/bricks and rebuilding walkways starting Sept 11, 2025. Key detail: Firm owned by Matt Robinson, father of suspect Tyler Robinson. Company has since closed. UVU/DFCM framed as safety & memorial prep; critics question timing amid sealed warrants. Timeline & sources: UVU Facilities reports, DFCM bids, X discussions. Thoughts?” they asked.

"This is like the Bin Laden Group winning the no-bid $1 billion contract to build the US Embassy in Baghdad after we invaded Iraq as a consequence of 9/11," another offered.

Fact Check: False

There’s zero verified evidence linking Matt Robinson’s company to any work at UVU following the tragedy. The rumor started with unverified profiles on social media, and there’s no evidence to back it up.

What we do know is that a company called Precision Granite & Marble LLC does exist and that LinkedIn lists a Matt Robinson as its owner, which also happens to be the name of Tyler’s father.

But according to X's fact-checker Grok, the theory doesn’t hold water. “Yes, Matt Robinson owns Precision Granite & Marble LLC, and he is the father of suspect Tyler Robinson. However, no credible evidence or official reports link this company to the rapid paving or site alterations at UVU after Charlie Kirk's assassination,” Grok said.

The university did confirm that crews replaced the grass area “for reopening,” but the contractor remains undisclosed because of the ongoing investigation. “Speculation alone doesn't confirm a cover-up,” Grok concluded.

Who is Matt Robinson?

Robinson reportedly runs a construction business and has been married to Amber Denise Robinson for 25 years. The family lives in Washington, a city in Utah where Tyler grew up.

It's worth noting that it was Matt Robinson himself who apparently helped authorities identify his son as the suspect. When President Donald Trump announced Tyler Robinson as the killer, he claimed that “the suspect's father relayed the information to authorities through a minister who was involved with law enforcement.”

Meanwhile, Tyler’s grandmother told the Daily Mail that most of their family were Republicans.

What happened at UVU?

On September 10, 31-year-old conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk was speaking to a crowd at UVU in Orem, Utah, when tragedy struck.

At approximately 12:23 pm MDT, Kirk was shot in the neck by a single bullet while answering a question about mass shootings in the US. Witnesses said panic erupted as the crowd scrambled for safety. He was rushed to Timpanogos Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators later determined that the gunman had fired from the roof of the Losee Center building, around 142 yards (130 meters) away. The weapon used was a .30-06 Mauser M 98 bolt-action rifle with a scope, later found wrapped in a dark towel.

The next day, Tyler James Robinson turned himself in to local authorities. Prosecutors charged him with aggravated murder and several other felonies, saying they’d seek the death penalty and alleging the attack was politically motivated.
