LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A claim that country music star Carrie Underwood is suing 'The View' over Joy Behar’s recent comments about her performance at Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration has gone viral on social media platforms. However, on closer look, this claim appears to be false.

The rumor first surfaced on Wednesday, January 15, in a video posted by the YouTube channel OkayRickk. The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 336,000 views within 48 hours.

YouTube channels amplify rumor about Carrie Underwood suing 'The View'

Other YouTube channels, including Da Real Adogg and Recklezz, also shared similar videos, further fueling the speculation. These videos, however, provide no substantial evidence to support the claim that Underwood is taking legal action against 'The View' or its longtime host, Joy Behar.

The controversy started after Behar made critical remarks about Underwood's decision to perform at Trump’s second inauguration, scheduled for January 20.

During the Tuesday, January 14 episode of 'The View', Behar called Underwood’s participation in the event "un-American," questioning how the singer could support someone she described as a "convicted felon" while professing love for the country.

Behar's comments quickly sparked a backlash from Trump supporters and others online.

Carrie Underwood has not addressed or confirmed the lawsuit claim

Despite the heated discussion, there is no credible evidence that Carrie Underwood is suing 'The View' or Joy Behar. Major news outlets have not reported any legal action taken by the singer, and Underwood has not publicly addressed or confirmed such a lawsuit.

Furthermore, no official statement has been released from Underwood or her representatives in response to the rumor. It appears that the viral claim was likely created to capitalize on the ongoing controversy surrounding Behar's comments.

The videos on YouTube, which prominently feature sensationalized titles such as "Carrie Underwood SUES ‘The View’ Host Joy Behar," do not offer any factual support for the lawsuit claim and are primarily designed to attract clicks and views.

The conversation around Underwood’s performance at the inauguration began after her participation in the event was confirmed. She will be singing Ray Charles' 'America the Beautiful' during the event.

In a statement at the time, the country singer expressed her honor in being asked to take part in such a historic occasion, emphasizing her "love" for the country and her desire to bring people together in unity.

Carrie Underwood's political stance remains largely private

While Carrie Underwood has generally kept her personal politics private, she has occasionally made indirect comments about Donald Trump. For instance, at the 2017 CMA Awards, she and co-host Brad Paisley made lighthearted jabs at the MAGA spearhead's social media activity with a parody of her hit song 'Before He Cheats'.

Despite Behar's sharp comments, other 'The View' co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg and Alyssa Farah Griffin, defended Underwood’s right to make her own decision.

Goldberg emphasized the importance of freedom of choice, stating that while she might not be interested in watching the inauguration, she supported Underwood’s decision to perform at the event.

Griffin also acknowledged that Underwood’s decision could be seen from a business perspective, given that Trump enjoys the backing of a significant portion of the American public.

While Behar’s comments drew criticism, they also sparked a wider conversation about the intersection of politics, celebrity, and artistic expression.

However, despite the controversy, there is no factual basis for the viral claim that Underwood is suing 'The View' or Behar.

In conclusion, the rumor about Underwood suing 'The View' following Behar’s remarks is false. No legal action has been taken, and the claims circulating online appear to be driven by sensationalism rather than verified facts.
