LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A meme claiming Paul Rudd is the same age as Gloria Stuart when she played an elderly Rose Calvert in 'Titanic' has been making the rounds on social media.

The Internet couldn’t get enough of it. While some users bought into the idea, others were quick to call it out for what it really was.

One user even commented under a Facebook post, “The amount of people that took this seriously astounds me.” That's not to say the meme didn't go viral across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), 9GAG, and Instagram, causing all kinds of confusion and giggles.

Fact Check: False

Let’s set the record straight: Paul Rudd is 55 years old as of December 2024. Meanwhile, Gloria Stuart was in her 80s when she filmed the 'Titanic'. According to IMDb, Stuart was born on July 4, 1910, making her 86 when filming began in July 1996 and 87 when the movie hit theaters in 1997. So, no, our beloved ageless Rudd isn’t anywhere near her age during that iconic role.

Turns out the meme was born from a 2021 X post by user @DevonESawa, who tweeted the claim as a joke. In fact, they even followed up with a quick “(Just kidding)” shortly after posting it. But as these things generally go, the satire was lost in translation once the meme went viral.

That said, many Facebook users took the meme in jest and offered hilarious takes.

"This is false, he's actually a few hundred years older than her," one commented.

"Titanic is now the same age Gloria Stuart was when she did Paul Rudd," another quipped.

"Either someone doesn’t understand age or Leonardo DiCaprio created this meme or both," someone else chimed in.

Why everyone believes Paul Rudd doesn’t age

Paul Rudd might just be the poster child for eternal youth.

Born on April 6, 1969, Rudd has long been subjected to memes and jokes about his seemingly ageless appearance. Even Jennifer Aniston joined the bandwagon in April this year, calling him an “ageless freak” in an Instagram Story celebrating his birthday.

So, what’s his secret? Rudd spilled the tea in an interview with Men’s Health last year.

According to him, the key to his youthful glow is rather straightforward: sleep, healthy eating, and consistency.

"People ask me, ‘Can you send me your meal plan? How many times a week do you work out? Do you drink? Do you eat carbs? Do you have a cheat day?’ The most important part of training is sleep," he explained. "People will set their alarm and then sleep for four hours and they’ll get up so that they can train. They’re doing themselves a disservice. If you can somehow get eight hours of sleep."

A peek into Paul Rudd’s routine

Paul Rudd isn’t shy about sharing his daily routine, which is as disciplined as it is comforting. His typical meals include eggs, salmon, and protein shakes, all of which keep him fueled and feeling good.

“I’ve learned so much about how my body reacts to foods, how it reacts to exercise, and where I’m happiest and how much it affects me mentally,” he said.

Rudd admitted to Men’s Health that veering away from his routine makes him feel unsettled, thereby noting how important it is to stick to habits that work.

"There isn’t an office that we have to go to every day where we see the same people and do the same kind of job. Routine is a human need. It’s grounding in a really positive and healthy way," he said.

But it’s not just food and exercise that keep him glowing. Last July, he credited sunscreen for his youthful skin in a chat with GQ magazine.

In case you needed more proof of Rudd’s timeless appeal, he was crowned People magazine’s 'Sexiest Man Alive' in 2021.
