Fans laud Taylor Swift as clip of her tipping Grammys staff goes viral after she's booed at Super Bowl

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift proved that she is one of America's loveliest celebrities with a small gesture: she generously rewarded staff members after departing the 2025 Grammy Awards empty-handed earlier this month.

A video of the pop star tipping four service workers backstage while she was walking down a corridor went viral on social media—two days after she was booed by Philadelphia Eagles fans while supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. 

In a video uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, February 11, the 'Shake It Off' singer was seen strolling down a hallway with her entourage when she returned to say, "Thank you so much for all your hard work," and hand out cash to four staffers.

One worker replied to Swift by saying, "We appreciate you so much."

The 'Love Story' singer appeared upbeat as she showed compassion behind the scenes, although she left the awards ceremony empty-handed after losing in all six of the categories for which she was nominated.

Swift "[felt] honored to have been nominated among so many other incredibly talented artists," an insider told Page Six, adding, "Taylor had an amazing time at the Grammys. She had a blast hanging out with friends, chatting and partying with everybody."

The 'Lover' singer, who was up for multiple awards, including Album of the Year (which went to Beyonce's 'Cowboy Carter'), also took the time earlier that evening to compliment a fan backstage.

In a TikTok video, a Swiftie was heard saying, "Hi queen, you look amazing," as Swift passed by wearing her glittery Vivienne Westwood minidress. 

The 'Love Story' hitmaker swiftly responded to the fan's kind comment, saying, "That’s very nice of you, so do you," as per People.

Taylor Swift is known for being a generous tipper

Taylor Swift has gained a reputation as a generous tipper since being spotted handing out $100 bills to kitchen employees during a Kansas City Chiefs vs New England Patriots game in December 2023.

It was assumed that the employees seen in the viral photo were the runners and food servers who attended her in her VIP suite.

Swift also kindly offered $100 to a ticket taker who was working at Highmark Stadium during a January 2024 Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills game.

"She’s a sweetie pie. Very down to earth," staffer Jerris Rainey told 7 News Buffalo at the time, before adding, "I just wanted to just see her, and she you know she stopped, and she asked me if I worked at the stadium."

"I said yes, and she asked if she could give me a tip. She gave me $100 and then she asked if I wanted to take a picture with her and I said yes," Rainey noted.

Swift carried on her tipping custom during the 2024–25 NFL season by giving away cash to employees at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. The 'Cruel Summer' singer also spent some time FaceTimeing a security guard's wife at one such game. 

As per reports, Swift likely also tipped people working at Super Bowl LIX after watching her beau's team lose 22-40 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Taylor Swift gathers praise for her 'generous' gesture

Netizens showered Taylor Swift with praises for her kind gesture as the video of her tipping the backstage crew went viral. 

One wrote, "How could anyone hate her, she’s the sweetest," referring to the jeering Swift received when she was shown on the jumbotron at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. 

Another wrote, "She has the biggest heart i’ve ever seen in my life, she’s the most generous person i know and i’m so proud of her ALWAYS, both for who she is as a person and as an artist. we made the right person famous, she deserves it all."

"Taylor giving out tips to the workers at the grammys after party how can anyone hate her," said one more. 

One gushed, "She’s genuinely too good for this world cause how can someone as famous as she is be so genuine and always tips the workers and says thank you to them everywhere she goes?? and she’s been doing this FOREVER like ugh i just love her."
