OAK ISLAND, NORTH CAROLINA: Former 'Teen Mom' star Jenelle Evans has filed for separation from her husband David Eason, citing his alleged "erratic" behavior, substance abuse issues, and refusal to work, reports The US Sun.

In the court complaint filed by Jenelle, she reportedly addressed various issues in their relationship, including Eason's admission to killing their pet dog, Nugget, in 2019, and his current charge for allegedly strangling her son, Jace, 14.

Jenelle accused Eason of refusing to work, spending her money excessively, and engaging in what she referred to as "criminal conversations" with his ex-wife. She highlighted his alleged erratic behavior, including the killing of their pet dog, as well as the incident involving her son, Jace.

Jenelle said in the filing, entered in court on February 23, that she and David separated on February 16, "with the intent that the separation be permanent."

"Throughout the duration of the marriage of the parties, the defendant has exhibited concerning and at times disturbing behavior towards the plaintiff," she said.

"In May of 2019, Defendant shot and killed the family's pet French Bulldog Nugget in front of the minor child," she continued, referring to her daughter Ensley, now 7.

Jenelle claimed that after David allegedly killed the family pet, "the Columbus County Department of Child Services, DSS instituted proceedings against the parties and took into custody the aforementioned minor children."

The former reality TV star alleged that Eason's actions led to Child Services instituting proceedings against them and taking custody of their minor children. She also referenced Eason's pending criminal case for misdemeanor child abuse and felony assault by strangulation.

"Despite the voluntary dismissal of the underlying DSS proceedings, the defendant's criminal case is still pending and the defendant is subject to several no-contact provisions in the aforementioned criminal case," Jenelle alleged.

"Since the DSS case was voluntarily dismissed, and primary physical custody of [Jace] reverted back to plaintiff, defendant left the former marital residence at the behest of plaintiff so that [he] could return home with plaintiff and his siblings," she continued.

Despite the dismissal of the DSS proceedings and the return of custody of Jace to Jenelle, she claimed that Eason has not provided support or assistance to their children since their separation. She also accused him of harassing her and engaging in insulting behavior.

Additionally, Jenelle criticized Eason for his alleged substance abuse and failure to maintain consistent employment over the years, attributing his behavior to excessive alcohol consumption.

Jenelle stated that since their separation, David has not checked in on her or their daughter, Ensley. She accused him of spending his days drinking at a nearby bar and failing to provide assistance or support to their children.

"Plaintiff has been spending his days drinking liquor at a bar near the marina," she claimed.

David allegedly refused to give Jenelle a key to their mailbox, preventing her from picking up medication for their son Jace, which she claims put the child at risk for adverse health effects.

Jenelle criticized David for leaving their daughter Maryssa behind when he left their marital residence, without ensuring a plan for the care of their biological minor children.

David allegedly showed up at their house despite a no-contact order against him for Jace. During this encounter, Jenelle claimed he took her vehicle without permission and made insulting remarks, which she filmed for her safety.

"Defendant developed no plan for ensuring both of his biological minor children were cared for and offered plaintiff zero support and assistance with any of the minor children during this time."

As a result, Jenelle said she needed to remove Maryssa from the home to focus on Jace, "especially since [he] had just been forced into DSS custody because of alleged acts of domestic violence by the defendant," per the filing.

She also claimed David showed up at their house on February 22, despite a no-contact order against him for Jace.

"For the purpose of harassing or annoying plaintiff, defendant took plaintiff's vehicle without her permission and told her to kill herself among other vile insults, which plaintiff filmed the interaction for her safety." Jace "was home, but not present during defendant's show," according to the documents.

It's not the first time the couple has been at odds. David murdered the family dog Nugget in 2019, so Jenelle took the kids out of state to Tennessee, filed an explosive restraining order against him, and DSS returned them to her.

As former Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans filed for separation from her husband David Eason, fans took to social media to voice their opinions and predictions on the impending divorce proceedings.

Many fans foresee a tumultuous divorce ahead, with predictions of legal battles over custody and assets dominating discussions. One user commented, "It will be a nasty divorce. He will definitely fight with Jenelle for full custody of their daughter. Good luck."

Some fans express doubt until the divorce is finalized, citing Jenelle and David's history of reconciliations. "I won’t believe it until it’s signed off and official… I give it a week and it will be 'I love my husband, forget the haters'," remarked one user, reflecting cautious optimism tempered by past experiences.

Another user wrote, "Hopefully she's got some sense to leave him be and not go back."

The other user wrote, "It's not the first time, so who knows in a week from now, maybe she's doing it purposely because he has a case against him and the chances of him winning aren't very good. Signing a piece of paper won't stop them, they just won't be married anymore"
