Fox News host says Trump must make better case on Iran before risking 'another war' for US
WASHINGTON,DC: A Fox News co-host on Friday, February 20 urged President Donald Trump to more clearly explain why potential military action against Iran would serve American interests, as he weighs whether to carry out a limited strike.
Rachel Campos-Duffy made the remarks during a discussion on Fox & Friends, where she questioned whether the administration has sufficiently justified escalating tensions with Tehran.
Her comments came as Trump signaled he is keeping military options open if negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program fail.

Fox News anchor questions case for US military action in Iran
Campos-Duffy said the president needs to outline why a strike would directly benefit Americans before taking the country into what could become “another war” in the Middle East.
“I think that the president needs to make a better case as to why this is in American interest to potentially go into a kinetic war,” she said.
“I don’t think the case has been made sufficiently for me,” Campos-Duffy added.
“If you’re going to get us potentially into a war, you have to explain why it matters to us. Not to other countries, but to us.”
She also expressed sympathy for Iranian protesters who recently clashed with the regime but questioned whether military action would help them.
“Explain to me why I should risk my military-aged boys potentially going into another war in the Middle East. I thought we were done with that,” she said.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade agreed that the situation is serious, noting that Trump’s credibility in the region is at stake.

Rising US–Iran tensions
Trump recently gave Iran a 10-day timeline to agree to a deal after a second round of talks in Geneva over Tehran’s nuclear program produced little progress.
In recent days, Trump’s tone has sharpened. “We’re going to make a deal or get a deal one way or the other,” he told reporters, while confirming he is considering a limited strike.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that threats would derail negotiations, saying Tehran would walk away from talks if attacked.
Meanwhile, Iran has conducted military exercises, including joint drills with Russian forces, and launched missiles toward the Strait of Hormuz with its supreme leader warning of a 'regional war'.
The Americans should know if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war.
