NEW YORK, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jesse Watters is once again under fire, this time for taking aim at former second gentleman Doug Emhoff over something he deemed unbecoming of a man.

Watters wasn't a fan of Emhoff affectionately leaning toward his wife, former Vice President Kamala Harris, ahead of their appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, reports the Irish Star.

Jesse Watters criticizes Doug Emhoff for 'leaning in' toward Kamala Harris

During his primetime show, 'Jesse Watters Primetime', the journalist criticized Doug Emhoff’s posture, declaring, “He’s leaning in like Barack leans into Michelle. Men should never lean. Green lines don’t lie.”

Watters was referencing an unscientific online theory known as the “green line rule,” which claims that in photos, the person standing straight “holds power,” while the one leaning in is showing submission by “entering the world” of the other.

This is far from Watters’ first inflammatory statement on masculinity.

In an earlier episode of 'The Five', Watters suggested that remote workers are less masculine, bizarrely claiming, “When you sit behind a screen all day, it makes you a woman. Studies have shown this.”

He went on to argue that in-person labor was more “manly” because it involved being around “other guys and not HR ladies and lawyers.”

One wrote, “‘Men shouldn’t lean’ is the kind of crisis you invent when you’ve got no policies, no ethics, and no idea what masculinity actually is,” and another said, “Does he have anything better to report on? Watters is a total idiot.”

“Does he make up these ‘real men’ rules before or after getting his stage makeup done for his nightly gabfests?” a person asked, whereas someone else quipped, “Green lines out here deciding who’s alpha like it’s geometry class.”

“This guy is obsessed with other guys. What’s his deal???” an individual said.

"Is Watters aware these people aren’t in power? Does he remember he’s supposed to cover actual news? How many people are actually still watching this mess?" one more fumed.

"Real men don't have to try to convince people they're manly. Someone doth protest too much," another tweet read.
