NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: Donald Trump reportedly had a bizarre conversation with the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov as he went to UFC 302 on Saturday, June 1.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the ex-leader appeared at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, with UFC CEO Dana White.

The duo then went on to meet Nurmagomedov, who told Trump, “I know you will stop the war in Palestine.”

To which, the 77-year-old replied, “We will stop it. I will stop the war.”

Since October last year, over 35,000 people have lost their lives in Gaza. Also in Israel, around 1000 lives have been claimed.

The most recent fatal attack happened at a camp accommodating displaced Palestinians near Rafah that reportedly killed at least 45 people.

Joe Biden shares plan to end Israel-Hamas war

The May 26 tragedy led to a global outcry. President Joe Biden on May 31 issued a statement that read, “After intensive diplomacy carried out by my team and my many conversations with leaders of Israel, Qatar, and Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries, Israel has now offered — Israel has offered a comprehensive new proposal.”

He added, “It’s a roadmap to an enduring ceasefire and the release of all hostages. This proposal has been transmitted by Qatar to Hamas,” before explaining the three phases plan.

Donald Trump slammed guilty verdict

Meanwhile, Trump’s appearance at the UFC 302 came after he was convicted of 34 charges in the hush money trial in the Manhattan court on May 30.

The Republican was declared guilty after it was proved that he forged his business records to make a payment of $130,000 to a former porn star to shut her mouth regarding a sex scandal.

But Trump decried the verdict as he reportedly said, “This was a disgrace, this was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge. The real verdict will be November 5th by the people and they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here.”

“We didn't do anything wrong. I'm a very innocent man. That's OK. I'm fighting for our country, and I'm fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now,” he added.

Internet calls Donald Trump a ‘liar’

Trump’s recent remark on the war has attracted some comments online with an X user tweeting, “Such a great act from Khabib. I highly doubt that Trump means what he said though.”

Another user wrote, “He’ll stop it and forcibly remove all Palestinians, then his son-in-law Kushner will take all of Gaza Strip and West Bank and make luxury apartments which are already arranged with Israel.”

The third user said, “LOL, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen here. Trump? He literally will do whatever Bibi wants, and Bibi has zero interest in stopping the war.”

“He is a liar. He no wants to stop the war in Gaza,” the fourth user stated.

The fifth added, “Poor Khabib in for a big surprise.”
