LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Garth Brooks's family stands firmly by him as he faces serious assault allegations. His wife, Trisha Yearwood, and their three adult daughters reportedly believe in his innocence, while he categorically denies the claims.

The country music icon, 62, has been accused of assaulting a makeup artist in a Los Angeles hotel room in 2019, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday in California. Brooks has vehemently rejected these allegations, calling them a malicious attempt to extort him for "many millions of dollars" in "hush money."

In the wake of the assault allegations against Garth Brooks, a source close to the singer has revealed that his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and their three adult daughters firmly believe in his innocence.

Brooks shares his daughters—Taylor, 32, August, 30, and Allie, 28—with his first wife, Sandy Mahl, whom he married in 1986 and divorced in 2000. He first met Yearwood in 1988, began dating her after his split from Mahl and married in 2005.

“Garth is known to be a very kind and nice man, so these allegations are very shocking. Everyone around him including Trisha and his daughters believe him to be telling the truth,” the insider told Us Weekly.

“Many around him think this is out of character and something he would never do. Everyone around him is shocked.”

Amid these claims, the source emphasized, “All Garth cares about is his family and his fans. He is a family man and is very down to earth.”

Last month, Brooks took legal action by filing a preemptive lawsuit against his accuser, asserting that he is the true victim. He alleges she is an extorter who threatened to damage his reputation unless he paid her millions.

This lawsuit, filed anonymously in federal court in Mississippi, came after he received a demand letter from her attorney, while he was aware that his former makeup artist, identified only as Jane Roe, was preparing to file her civil claim in California.

Brooks's lawsuit presents a starkly different narrative from the allegations made in Roe's filing, which claims she was assaulted during a work trip to Los Angeles in 2019. Brooks has categorically denied any wrongdoing, contending that her accusations stem from a desire for financial gain.

He asserts that Roe pursued legal action only after he refused to offer her a salaried position with benefits, claiming she threatened to sue unless he paid her "millions of dollars not to file the suit."

After learning about Garth Brooks's family's support in light of the assault allegations, many internet users have shared their thoughts online.

One user wrote, "These celebrities need to start keeping their circle very small now."

A second user claimed, "Oh how cute those woke kids are. Now I know where he gets his from."

A third user deemed, "Team Garth!"

One claimed, "I believe Garth Brooks. He’s a wonderful human being and I think the kady is just looking for some money."

A person wrote, "I believe Garth Brooks too!  The fact that the accuser did not report the alleged crime to authorities and has recently turned to a "civil" court, indicates to me this is a shakedown by the accuser."

Another commented, "I believe Garth and I'm not a fan. The purported "victim" claims this happened but 1. never filed charges, 2. did not apply for or receive an order of protection, 3. accused him after five years time. There also needs to be a statute of limitations on these cases. In the US, if you file for malpractice against a physician then the time limit is two years. The case might take longer than that to go to trial but patients have two years to file. That needs to happen with cases like these. I'm not pleased that his reputation is being questioned and hers is anonymous."
