LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tensions are rising in the country music scene after rising artist Gavin Adcock launched a fiery tirade against global superstar Beyonce, questioning her credibility as a "country musician".

During a recent concert, Adcock slammed the Grammy-winning artist, claiming her 'Cowboy Carter' album doesn’t belong in the country genre, despite its commercial success and critical acclaim.

His remarks, seemingly fueled by frustration over her charting above his debut album on Apple Music’s Country chart, sparked immediate backlash, as per DailyMail.

While Adcock acknowledged Beyonce’s talent, he argued that lifelong country artists shouldn’t have to compete with her popularity, igniting a heated debate across fans online.

His outburst appeared to be fueled by frustration over her album 'Cowboy Carter' outranking his debut album 'My Own Worst Enemy' on Apple Music's Country chart, with Beyonce sitting at No 3 and Adcock trailing just behind at No 4.

While addressing the albums ahead of his on the chart, Adcock told the crowd, “One of them’s Beyonce — you can tell her we’re coming for her f***ing a**!”

He went on to dismiss her music, saying, “That s**t ain’t country music and it ain’t ever been country music, and it ain’t gonna be country music,” while raising a bottle to the audience.

Following the backlash, Adcock shared a video on Instagram acknowledging Beyonce’s talent, calling her 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show “pretty kicka**,” but stood firm in his criticism of 'Cowboy Carter'.
