Gavin Newsom satirizes Trump with AI-generated FIFA Peace Prize post
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump was presented with the brand-new "FIFA Peace Prize" by FIFA President Gianni Infantino during the World Cup draw event.
The award, introduced for the first time, drew attention due to its timing and Trump's long-standing push for a Nobel Peace Prize.
The moment also prompted a response from California Governor Gavin Newsom, who posted a satirical image and caption referencing the event.
Newsom, in his post on X, shared an AI-generated picture of Trump and himself, indicating that he should've received the award instead of the president.
TERRIFIC NIGHT ACCEPTING THE FIRST-EVER KENNEDY CENTER PEACE PRIZE!!! AUDIENCE WAS AMAZING (CHAIRS NOT GREAT, LIGHTING DISASTER). TRUMP AND JANITOR RIC GRENELL LET THE WHOLE PLACE GO TO HELL!! I TOLD THEM AS TRUMP DOZED OFF: RENAME IT THE NEWSOM CENTER!! ONLY I CAN FIX IT!!!… pic.twitter.com/zxdBBXzn7l

Gavin Newsom parodies Trump with an AI image
Newsom published an AI-generated image depicting Trump handing him a fictional oversized trophy labeled "The Kennedy Center Inaugural Peace Prize."
All the while he's standing next to the POTUS. The post used exaggerated stylistic elements commonly associated with Trump's public statements.
"TERRIFIC NIGHT ACCEPTING THE FIRST-EVER KENNEDY CENTER PEACE PRIZE!!!" Newsom wrote in the caption.
He continued in the caption, "audience was amazing (chairs not great, lighting disaster). Trump and Janitor Ric Grenell let the whole place go to hell!! I told them as Trump dozed off, rename it Newsom center!! only I can fix it!!"
The governor also mentioned Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr in his post, stating that even Kennedy "grabbed tweezers and tried to take out the brain worm!"
Newsom followed with additional lines written in a similar tone and ended the post with, "a historic night for America... you're welcome!!! thank you for your attention to this matter!- GCN."
Trump's FIFA honor draws questions
Trump's reception of the newly minted FIFA Peace Prize drew attention not only for its timing, coming after he lost the Nobel Peace Prize to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, but also because of the political weight behind it.
The president has warned Boston that games could be relocated if he felt local leadership was insufficiently cooperative.
"We could take them away," Trump had said, while blasting Mayor Michelle Wu as "radical left."
On Friday, Trump and Infantino appeared together to unveil the tournament draw.
Trump praised the award with claims about global conflict resolution, "this is truly one of the great honors of my life... we saved millions and millions of lives... India, Pakistan, so many different wars that we're able to end... just right before they started."
