LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a surprising twist, Hollywood icon George Clooney has thrown his weight behind Kamala Harris for the upcoming presidential race. This comes weeks after he delivered a blistering critique of President Joe Biden.

Clooney, known for his activism alongside his wife, prominent human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, has now stepped into the political spotlight, stirring speculation about his own political ambitions.

As rumors swirl about Clooney's potential future in public office, the 'Ocean's Eleven' star seems poised to transition from the silver screen to the political stage, with the backing of powerful Democratic figures like Barack Obama.

Clooney expressed his excitement for Harris, 59, and her "historic quest" to win the upcoming election. According to sources within the Democratic Party, Clooney's recent involvement in the presidential race is part of a "calculated" effort to position himself for a future White House run.

"His endorsement of Kamala was definitely calculated. George is contemplating a future run for president and he has the support of one of the most powerful Democrats in the world, Barack Obama," the insider said.

It added, "He has his scope set on a possible run for a Senate seat in 2026 and will undoubtedly continue to gain respect within the Democratic party," as per DailyMail.

The actor's vocal support of Harris came after he wrote a critical op-ed in the New York Times, urging Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump, 78.

"There was a massive push amongst the Democrats to get Biden out of the race. George flicked the domino, which launched him into a different political spectrum," the insider disclosed.

Internet asks George Clooney 'to stay home'

After hearing the insider's claims about George Clooney's political ambitions, many social media users have shared their perspectives on Facebook.

One person commented, "Oh George stay home and take care of the kids." Another added, "Sorry George but stay in your own lane!"

One individual stated, "The man left the US for Europe and is now thinking of the presidency? He must be another puppet of the globalists running things behind the scenes."
