Fans relieved as Karol G's jet makes safe emergency landing after pilots detect smoke in cockpit
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A plane carrying chart-topping reggaeton artist Karol G was forced to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles on Thursday, February 29, after smoke filled the cockpit of the Gulfstream jet mid-flight, obscuring the pilots' vision and prompting them to rapidly change course.
While clearly shaken, the Colombian singer and 15 others emerged from their ordeal unscathed, as per the New York Post.
Smoke forces Karol G's jet to make emergency landing at Van Nuys Airport
Karol G's Gulfstream jet took off from Burbank Airport Thursday evening with the 33-year-old singer and her entourage. But soon after taking to the air, the plane ran into trouble as smoke began to fill the cockpit somewhere over Cajon Pass, located about 70 miles east of Burbank in Southern California.
With the pilots' vision compromised, they knew they had to act quickly and decided to turn the plane around and make an emergency landing at Van Nuys Airport, located just north of Los Angeles.
