Scheduled to be released across all platforms on May 14, the description of the book, as per Amazon, reads, "George Stephanopoulos, former senior advisor to President Clinton and for more than 20 years anchor of This Week and co-anchor of Good Morning America, recounts the crises that decided the course of history, from the place 12 presidents made their highest-pressure decisions: the White House Situation Room." Lisa Dickey co-wrote the book along with the television host.
This is not the only project that Stephanopoulos has promoted unrelated to GMA in recent times. The other one is a documentary titled 'Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields,' which he executive produced along with his wife Ali Wentworth back in 2023. Streaming for a year on Hulu, it has recently been aired on cable television.

When did George Stephanopoulos first announce his new book?
Stephanopoulos had initially announced the publication of 'The Situation Room' back in October 2023 on the morning show. It was introduced by co-host Robin Roberts, who was seated next to him.
"I am so excited about this. We've been working it for about a year and a half. Just finished the edits on Saturday," he told his co-hosts.
Detailing that the text was a "history of the White House's Situation Room, which is the nerve center, created by John Kennedy," he added, "It's really the place where all the crises are managed."
Some examples of the said crises were 9/11, the killing of Osama Bin Laden, and the assassination of John F Kennedy, he stated, before concluding, "I can't wait for people to read it."
