'GMA' weather desk sees a temporary change as Ginger Zee takes an extended holiday break
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ginger Zee, the regular host for the weather segment of 'Good Morning America,' is being temporarily replaced on the morning show as she takes a holiday break to celebrate with her family.
Somara Theodore, who does the weather report on the weekends, will be filling in for Zee during the interim period. Theodore had once before covered for the 42-year-old meteorologist when she had to travel to Canada over a work assignment earlier in December.

Making her appearance on the show on Wednesday, Theodore reported on a major winter storm that has been working its way across the United States.
Sharing an update about the storm's current status, she stated, "Many cities on the East Coast are shrouded in fog, and with heavy rain being a major threat as this storm moves east, we are watching the concern for flooding."
She alerted viewers of the chances of rainfall in various places so they may keep it in mind while traveling over the holidays.

On December 24, Zee posted her Christmas outfit from the set of 'GMA' on Instagram, dazzling her fans with an outrageously resplendent dress of green and red.
"We have had some epic Christmas sweater parties at @goodmorningamerica - this morning I will be in the background but I love that they are letting our crew shine!" she wrote in the caption.
