'Grey’s Anatomy' actress Laura Ann Tull blasted for labeling Eric Dane 'bully' after his death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Just days after Eric Dane’s death, a former 'Grey’s Anatomy' extra unloaded on the late actor.
Laura Ann Tull took to Threads last week and branded Dane an “evil … bully” and accused him of mistreating her on set. She also labeled the star a “coward,” a “jerk,” and a “narcissist,” claiming he “abused” her during their time on the long-running ABC medical drama.
“I am why he was fired from ‘Grey’s,’” she wrote in one of several posts, per Complex. “I called [Shonda] Rhimes’ assistant two weeks before they announced his termination. Rhimes I doubt will ever admit that."
Dane, who portrayed Dr Mark Sloan (aka McSteamy), exited the show in 2012. Tull now says she played a role in that departure, though she did not provide proof or further details to support the allegation.
Social media fires back at Laura Ann Tull
Fans of Dane quickly responded on social media. Many users took issue not just with the accusations, but with when they were made.
One critic questioned “the point” of airing grievances now. “Attacking someone after they die of a horrific disease and they cannot defend themselves just smacks of indecency towards his family. Even if every word you say is true now is not the time to say it. I hope his daughters never see the vitriol you are spewing," they wrote.
Another slammed Tull for “talking bad about [someone] who is now gone from this world.”
Some even cast doubt on her connection to the series itself. Tull’s IMDb page does not appear to list 'Grey’s Anatomy.'
“I have watched ‘Greys Anatomy’ from start to finish so many times. … I’ve never seen you in my life. Ever,” one viewer wrote.
Another dismissed Tull as an “attention seeker” chasing her “two minutes of fame.”
Tull, however, did not back down.
She insisted that Dane’s death "doesn’t change [the] destruction he caused."
Old claims back in the spotlight
Tull also pointed out that her criticisms of Dane are not new.
She said she first publicly accused him years ago, referencing a Medium essay she published in June 2018 (long before Dane’s ALS diagnosis). In that piece, she claimed the actor called her “weird,” citing an email she said she received from “[Arne] Starr, an elected representative of Sag Aftra.”
The former lawyer maintained she never directly confronted the actor.
“I never talked to Dane. … I never spoke to Dane once directly. But I did hear him talk about me,” she alleged.
She also drew Patrick Dempsey into the controversy, claiming the 60-year-old “also seemed to comment about” her during that time.
Dane, who more recently starred in HBO’s 'Euphoria,' revealed in April 2025 that he had been diagnosed with ALS. He tragically died last week.
His family confirmed the news in a statement released Thursday.
“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle,” his loved ones wrote, in part. “Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received.”
