Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ring in 2025 differently after last year's celebration sparked split rumor
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton celebrated New Year’s Eve very differently than they did last year. They spent time with each other and their children at their ranch in Oklahoma — where Stefani shared the eventful day with her Instagram followers.
The 55-year-old pop star captured the final moments of 2024 and shared clips on her Instagram Story with Shelton and her 10-year-old son Apollo and "the last sunset of the whole 2024", as per She Knows.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton celebrate new year differently this time
Their celebration was a demonstration of family unity after last year’s very separate holiday. In December 2023, Stefani and Shelton booked events in different cities for New Year’s Eve, which raised concern with fans that their marriage was in trouble, per the outlet.
Notably, Shelton performed in Nashville while Stefani was in Las Vegas.
Stefani told Access Hollywood in December 2023, "It’s funny because I was going to be at his show and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas. Last year I did Vegas, and I was kind of like, ‘remind me never to do Vegas again."
She added, "And then I was like… I’m going to do it. If you’re going to be working, then I’m going to be working. So, I’m just going to fly in and out. It’s going to be awesome. I’m looking forward to it."
Moreover, the couple then spent the first month of 2024 refuting the breakup rumors that eventually led them to release a song together, 'Purple Irises', which revealed their deep connection.
The chorus spoke of Shelton and Stefani realizing the importance of their love - "No, I never knew a love like this."
In July 2024, an Us Weekly insider described the dynamic duo as "the quintessential opposites-attract type of couple," who found each other after "dark divorces".
Notably, Stefani joined 'The Voice' in 2014 and found an immediate connection with Shelton. For them, "their connection was the light at the end of the tunnel," per the outlet.
Gwen Stefani says she had no clue who Blake Shelton was before meeting him
Gwen Stefani revealed in November last year that she had no idea who her now-husband Blake Shelton was before they first met on 'The Voice'.
Notably, Stefani and Shelton, who dated for six years, got married in 2021.
In an interview with The Guardian, Stefani opened up about her life with Shelton, and shared some interesting insights. She revealed that, before meeting him, she had never heard of Blake or listened to country music.
She said, "I never listened to country music, so while Blake was super successful, I never even knew he existed before I met him."
She also expressed her love for collaborating with Shelton, describing him as humble and unaware of how talented he truly is. Stefani said, "I love singing with him. He’s very humble and doesn’t realize how good he is. There’s something so attractive about that."
Despite the painful end of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale in 2016, Stefani found love again with Shelton and considers it a "second chance" at happiness.
