TISHOMINGO, OKLAHOMA: They say opposites attract, but for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, those differences may be driving them apart, as their relationship is said to be on the rocks.

Radar Online has revealed that rockstar royalty Gwen Stefani and down-to-earth country crooner Blake Shelton's marriage is encountering turbulence, and it all comes down to his growing love for hunting and fishing.

Blake Shelton embraces hunting and fishing after 'The Voice'

After stepping away from 'The Voice' in May 2023 and wrapping his Las Vegas residency in February, Blake Shelton has had plenty of time to indulge in what he calls "God's country."

But while Shelton finds peace in the great outdoors, his newfound freedom is stirring tension at home.

"Now that Blake is no longer tied down with work, he likes to take off on hunting and fishing trips, even though he's not very good at it," an insider revealed.

Shelton has admitted his passion isn’t exactly his forte. "Hunting and fishing is one of those things I'm never going to master," he said.

"I'm never gonna dominate the hunting and fishing world, and 99.9 percent of the time, I'm gonna lose. I'm gonna fail. And that's what keeps me hooked," the country singer said.

Blake Shelton's outdoor adventures clash with wife Gwen Stefani's lifestyle

But while Blake Shelton may find joy in his outdoor adventures, his wife Gwen Stefani—a lifelong vegetarian since the age of 12—isn’t so thrilled.

"Blake enjoys these nature trips and will spend a day or three out in the wild soaking it in," the insider continued. "But the game he brings home and the fish that need gutting and cleaning gross Gwen out."

Sources revealed that Stefani initially believed Shelton's meat-eating habits were something she could change — or at least curb.

"For him to proudly wave his kill in front of her is unbearable," the insider confided.

Despite her protests, Blake seems unfazed. "She's made that very clear to Blake, but he brushes her complaints aside — and their relationship is now at breaking point," the source added.

Gwen Stefani addresses previous divorce rumors in 2024 interview

Back in her Nylon spring/summer 2024 interview, Gwen Stefani reflected on her upcoming Coachella reunion with band No Doubt, her solo music career, and her latest song 'Purple Irises', which was a heartfelt collaboration with her husband Blake Shelton.

Speaking about 'Purple Irises', Stefani said that the song was born from a period of self-doubt, as per NBC.

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?’” she shared.

Despite feeling secure in her relationship with Shelton, Stefani admitted to creating “drama” in her mind. “I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid,” she explained.

Shelton echoed her feelings, saying, “It’s an insecurity we both have. These are conversations that she and I have with each other: ‘Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?’”

Addressing rumors of a split, Stefani dismissed the gossip. “But when you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us,” she said.

“You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship — I mean, a week ago, we were getting divorced again or something. It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is,” the singer added.

Stefani described 'Purple Irises' as a reflection on love’s evolution and the insecurities that come with it.

“Every single reference in the song is about the insecurities we sometimes feel,” she said, before adding, “You can’t hold on to time, you have to keep evolving and moving forward — that’s true with love as well. There’s all different kinds of love, and it always evolves and changes. That's really what the song is. That was the intention of the song.”
