Simone Biles warns trollers from commenting on her hair
With the spotlight on her, several people started taking jibe at Simone Biles' tresses. Many called her hairstyle ‘sloppy,’ and as if she woke up from a sleep.
"Don't come for me about my hair. IT WAS DONE but bus has NO AC & it's like 9,000 degrees," she captioned in one of her Instagram Stories.
She can be seen in her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Biles used a handheld fan to try and keep her calm with the temperature hitting 95 degrees.
One of the other Stories showed her smiling with her eyes closed in her blank tank top, "Gonna hold your hand when I say this, she wrote.
The eight-time Olympic winner added, "Next time you want to comment on a Black girl's hair, JUST DON'T," per US Weekly.
Simone Biles on unwanted attention over her hairstyle
In July, Simone Biles opened up about the criticism she has been facing about her hair over the years.
"I used to worry about [my hair being considered] not professional. But I’m not embarrassed about it anymore," she told Elle.
The gymnast added, "Most of the backlash we get is from our own community, which is unfortunate. I don’t really care if my edges aren’t smooth."
Biles also takes tips from the Black influencers online, "We've been able to take care of our hair better and take care of our beauty routines better, because it’s self-taught."
"It's really special that we have access to those platforms," she added.
Biles along with Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera pulled off the gold medal for Team USA on Tuesday, July 30.
The 27-year-old earlier shared the record with ‘Magnificent Seven’ star Shannon Miller with seven Olympic medals.
