LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Ken Urker, admitted she finds it "heartbreaking" that her late mother Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard would never get to know her daughter.

The 33-year-old soon-to-be mother was making an appearance on the latest episode of ‘The Bachelor’ star Nick Viall's ‘The Viall Files’ podcast on Wednesday, October 16, when she was asked whether she had thought about the relationship Dee Dee could have had with her baby.

The TV personality announced her pregnancy in July 2024, just seven months after she was released from prison, where she had served eight years of her 10-year sentence for conspiring to kill her mother with her then-boyfriend Nicholas 'Nick' Godejohn.

Blanchard, who spent her childhood posing as a wheelchair-bound invalid after her mother pumped her full of drugs, and convinced her she had a series of illnesses, waited in the restroom as Godejohn fatally stabbed Dee Dee in her Springfield, Missouri, home on June 9, 2015.

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard opens up about heartbreak

During the episode, Nick Viall asked Gypsy-Rose Blanchard whether she had thought about the relationship her late mother Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard could have had with her baby girl.

"I mean, for me, it is heartbreaking because I do, from time to time, think about what could have been, and it makes me sad. So, I kind of put that in the back of my mind,” she replied.

She then continued by emphasizing that “there have been questions on social media. Everybody asked the question, you know, 'What are you going tell your daughter whenever grandma isn't around?'”

“My response to them is that Kristy has become more of a mother to me than my own mother was, Blanchard stated, referencing her stepmother Kristy Blanchard, who married her father Rob in 1990 just a few months after his divorce from Dee Dee, according to the People.

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard tries to not let negative comments bother her

Further in the podcast, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, who started dating Ken Urker after her divorce from first husband Ryan Scott Anderson early this year, opened up about the "negative comments" she receives online regarding her becoming a mother.

"The one thing that just irritates me is the fact that people really have this stigma on, you know, new parents that have come from a life of trauma and the stigma of, oh, you know, 'You had been through this, so you're gonna continue on that cycle with your child,’” she stated.

However, Blanchard insisted that she is trying not to get bothered by the negative comments as she has been “taking the steps to make sure that I'm mentally stable enough to be a parent and heal myself".

"And so going forward, you know, I might not be a perfect parent, nobody is. But I am gonna do the best I can and make educated choices with my child and have the support to do so."

Blanchard is expected to give birth to her child in January 2025.
