Harris says bipartisan bill would have increased 'fentanyl seizures' at US borders, but Trump 'killed' it
SAVANNAH, GEORGIA: Kamala Harris slammed Donald Trump over border security during her recent sit-in interview with CNN.
The current VP, while defending her president Joe Biden on the issue, blamed the former president for ‘killing’ the bipartisan bill.
Donald Trump killed our bill to secure the border in order to help himself politically.

It would have added more border agents and allowed us to increase fentanyl seizures.
As President, I will make sure that bill gets back to my desk—and I will sign it.pic.twitter.com/psDbSdDSMG
Kamala Harris on bipartisan bill failure
Kamala Harris told CNN host Dana Bash, “Donald Trump killed our bill to secure the border in order to help himself politically. It would have added more border agents and allowed us to increase fentanyl seizures.”
“As President, I will make sure that bill gets back to my desk—and I will sign it,” she ensured.
Harris further said she’d be committed to addressing the root causes of US migration.
The so-called Northern Triangle “has actually resulted in a number of benefits, including historic investments by American businesses in that region,” the current VP said.
“The number of immigrants coming from that region has actually reduced since we began that work,” she told the network, per CNBC.
Kamala Harris slammed for being in office and yet blaming Donald Trump
Netizens shared their honest opinion on Kamala Harris' claim during the sit-in interview with CNN. The Democratic presidential nominee held Donald Trump responsible for the US border crisis.
One user expressed on X (formerly Twitter), "There is a real border security bill on Schumer's desk. It is HR 2 and was passed by the House in May of last year."
"Trump isn’t in office. You are. You were the tie breaking vote that killed the bill that enforced taxing tips and added 83,000 irs agents to go after the middle and lower class," expressed another.
A person speculated, "The bill you support and are referring to allow 8500 illegals in per day. That’s over 3 million per year. That’s not a border bill, that’s an invasion bill."
"Those 'border agents' in that bill were to process more illegals for entry. This was a 'border entry' bill," remarked another.
One criticized, "Your policies, or lack thereof, intentionally incentivized illegal immigration."
"The question was, "Why did you do nothing to stop the illegal immigration crisis for three years" and you blamed Trump lmao," said a political critic.
"Donald Trump, the man who’s not in office, killed the bill… 🤣🤣🤣 You don’t need a bill hussie… you just need an executive order to close it.. SIMPLE" a user noted.
